One day at a time, Valerie Bertinelli has been plugging away (and plugging) on her Jenny Craig diet. 
On Wednesday, the, 47-year-old divorced mother of one put on a modest one-piece suit and jumped into the Hawaiian surf with boyfriend Tom Vitale.
It's alleged that Val has dropped 28 pounds on the diet.

64. Hey, there are younger women who would never wear a swim suit because they worry about how they look. She gained some weight, but is taking care of it in a healthy way. She's older & looks great.She seems to be down to earth, a positive person, not rude.. Nice to see someone NICE in hollywood!!!!!!!!!! GED = some kind of education = understanding why older women have the hardest time losing weight, and why it's senseless to hear obviously younger people insulting VB (or anyone) without the facts. Not that they care. These are probably the same people who get angry at folks in wheelchairs or 90 yr. old ladies in walkers for crossing the street too slowly. They don't care that there is a reason for why they are where they are or how they function. And those kind of comments tend to irritate people who actually do possess any level of empathy or compassion or experience. Does that make enough sense for you?
