Gore's Kid Charged with Pot Possession

TMZ has learned that Vice President Al Gore's son has been formally charged with possession of marijuana and prescription drugs.

24-year-old Al Gore III was arrested on the 4th of July in Orange County, Calif. Cops say he was burning rubber at more than 100 mph in his 2006 Prius. Along with the weed, Gore allegedly had a stash of Adderall, Vicodin, Xanax, and Valium in the car.

The Orange County D.A. charged Gore III with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, two misdemeanor counts of possessing a controlled substance without a prescription, one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana, and a traffic infraction for driving at a speed greater than 100 miles per hour.

He is out on $20,000 bail. If convicted, he could be eligible for a drug diversion program instead of jail.

18. Responsible please. I dont care if you want to do drugs. Not while you drive. Responsible. The reason it is illegal is because people refuse to act like adults. You know your messed up why are you driving?

20. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Where do you think junior here learned about drugs?Algore pretends to be so pure...HA! This guy along with Bubba Clinton did drugs big time. They did a rally in my city once and you should have seen how the local news tried to cover it up. They were so stoned it wasn't even funny. As for big Al being so green, well, there's a method to his madness...he owns mega stocks in alternative energy sources companies. You'll be surprised at what you'll find if you do a little research and look for the facts.Poor Tipper...

21. -the kid needs rehab,proper therapy and medication, and no more driving privaliges and aaa, he could probably also do well w/ an ankle bracelet.

-kid needs real deep therapy analysis.

-al gore is awesome though,i feel sorry he and his family have to go through this crap with their son.

-son just needs to get well, may have mental problems as well as drug addiction-obviously the kid is self medicating for some kind of inner pain and struggle that torments him-needs therapy-needs help.

22. The kid is not charged with using the drugs or driving under the influence. He was merely charged with possessing the drugs.

Gee, people! A young person in possession of a harmless weed and a few pills, and you're all shocked and outraged? Bunch of buzzkills on this site, is what.

p.s. I support driving the speed limit. He should get a ticket for that.

28. To Ann Dee: The Hilton family are very staunch Republicans. Look in any news article about the Hilton Family. They are Republicans. I get my newsflashes from the news. Where do you get yours from??? Read the news and read biographies. Read the book by Jerry Oppenheimer, "The House of Hilton". It really is all there.
