Gore's Kid Charged with Pot Possession

TMZ has learned that Vice President Al Gore's son has been formally charged with possession of marijuana and prescription drugs.

24-year-old Al Gore III was arrested on the 4th of July in Orange County, Calif. Cops say he was burning rubber at more than 100 mph in his 2006 Prius. Along with the weed, Gore allegedly had a stash of Adderall, Vicodin, Xanax, and Valium in the car.

The Orange County D.A. charged Gore III with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, two misdemeanor counts of possessing a controlled substance without a prescription, one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana, and a traffic infraction for driving at a speed greater than 100 miles per hour.

He is out on $20,000 bail. If convicted, he could be eligible for a drug diversion program instead of jail.

46. 100 mph? And drugs? This guy it's a nightmare, I don't want anybody that I love driving in the same street that this dude is driving. But hey, they got $20,000 to get him out and he is a friend of Kennedy.- He'll be fine. They all know how to cheat justice. Kennedy killed a girl while driving intoxicated and look at him...A very popular senator!

48. Paris Hilton is not a republican. Last year she did an interview and said she was a democrat.- Maybe her grandparents were republicans, but not even her dad is. He is a big contributor to the democratic party in New York. Please get your facts straight.

54. Out on $20,000 bail, well guess it holds true, it isn't what you know, but who you know. Any other American caught doing what he was doing would have been bagged and booked and with the felony conviction would not have had to worry about whether to vote democrat or republican Since you lose your right to vote when you are a convicted felon. But this a Gore offspring. Well my suggestion is father and son need therapy, alot of it. Gore is out in the ozone that he says we need to save. All I can say is God help this country. I am fed up with them all.

56. Short and to the point. He broke the law and needs to be treated like everyone else regardless of who "daddy" is. Not just drug rehab, he needs jail time like anyone else, he commited a felony. He loses his right to own a gun, vote just like any other felon if he is convicted. As for "daddy" he needs some very intense therapy and he needs to maybe take some of those pills himself to get a grip on reality because he is definitely out of touch. He just plain needs to go away. He is boring, obnoxious and I am tired of hearing about his kid and him. Totally fed up!!!!!!

58. Well, he should be able to beat the speeding ticket - who the hell knew a Prius COULD go 100 mph?!!! I thought those things topped out at like 60 or 65 and that was pushing 'em to the limit :-) All he needs to argue to the judge is that he thought the speedometer was f'd up - that he didn't think there was a snowball's chance in hell he was really driving that fast in freakin' Prius.
