Gore's Kid Charged with Pot Possession

TMZ has learned that Vice President Al Gore's son has been formally charged with possession of marijuana and prescription drugs.

24-year-old Al Gore III was arrested on the 4th of July in Orange County, Calif. Cops say he was burning rubber at more than 100 mph in his 2006 Prius. Along with the weed, Gore allegedly had a stash of Adderall, Vicodin, Xanax, and Valium in the car.

The Orange County D.A. charged Gore III with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, two misdemeanor counts of possessing a controlled substance without a prescription, one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana, and a traffic infraction for driving at a speed greater than 100 miles per hour.

He is out on $20,000 bail. If convicted, he could be eligible for a drug diversion program instead of jail.

61. That kid has death in his eyes, He doesn't want to live. .Gore should worry less about what might be happening to the planet and more about what defiantly is happening in his world.

66. Oh, come on !!! How did he not get charged with intent to distribute !?! ALL OF THAT WAS FOR PERSONAL USE !?! I find that EXTREMELY hard to believe !! Either he's a pharmacy on wheels or he is a hard core user !! Either way it's bad. I feel ashamed for his family. They must be so embarrassed !!!

Sad, very sad.

70. The former vice president's son has a history of encounters with the law.

In August 2000, he was ticketed for going 97 mph in a 55-mph zone in North Carolina, and had his driving privileges suspended.

Two years later, he was cited for DUI in Virginia. He eventually pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one year's probation.

And in December 2003, Gore was arrested for marijuana possession in Maryland after he was pulled over for driving with his headlights off. He was sentenced to drug counseling in that case.

72. Well, at least pot is a "natural" drug. It would be a bring down if he were caught with a "manufactured" drug like crack or something. Speaking of which...in the new TV show on AMC, "Mad Men", the ad man who has the "Lucky Strike" cigarette account and the represenative from "Lucky Strike" are tossing around ideas for a slogan. The ad man asks, "How do you make your cigarettes?". The representative answers, "We breed insect repellant and tobacco seeds". So, tobacco seeds are crossed with insect repellant from the interm. I quit smoking with "Nicorette Gum". I found that there was virtually no withdraw from the gum.....that the biggest withdraw was in the first two weeks of chewing the gum....which was about 65% less then when I had quit cold turkey. So, my summary was that the withdraw was worse from the insect repellant than from the nicotine. INSECT REPELLANT....??? What are we doing to ourselves?
