Yoko Wants a Smoko?!?

Could that woman in the dark specs, Panama hat, and slightly tortured expression be Yoko? Oh yes! We're not entirely sure what she's demonstrating here, but the two fellas at her table sure are rapt. Imagine all the possibilities!
Yoko Ono
We spotted the former Mrs. Lennon at celebriteria Cipriani Downtown with three other guests, enjoying the same Bellinis and other delights that Greasy Bear enjoyed just a few days ago. Only in New York can one possibly run into rock greatness or a fabulous celeb in a club ... or Yoko and Greasy Bear.

32. Tweety,

Julian and Sean get along very well and are close, but he's not very fond of yok. Why should he be, after all the bitch hunted down his father and broke up his family. Julian doesn't get a dime from Yoko, never did. Were you around during the Beatles hey day??

33. Yoko is simply showing how to play the hard to master instrument, the kazoo. Of course that is all she is worthy of playing. She really can't do anything else.

36. I agree with #8, 9 & 15. Don't you people have better things to do than pick apart Yoko Ono? Just respect the fact she is JOHN LENNON'S widow! Not his ex-wife- his widow. She can call herself Mrs John Lennon for the rest of her life if she wants! He loved her!! And how do you know she "broke-up" The Beatles, and Julian was shunned? Were you there???

38.

Some people need to get their FACTS STRAIGHT.

John has clearly stated that

HE was the one that pursued Yoko.

She was in England preparing for her art exhibition when
John came into the gallery and "ate" part of her exhibition.

After an initial unpleasant meeting, (and after some time)
John courted Yoko and the rest is history.

They were very much in love and inseparable as
many have witnessed in the tapes that were made public.

Sean had so little time with his Dad till
John was Sadly and Tragically taken away from this earth.

As young as Sean was (when his Dad died),
John was so Totally Devoted to him
Day and Night and for that,
he can be Truly Grateful.

I'm sure that John would be very proud of how Sean turned out and has been watching over him from up above.

On the other hand, there are many kids who were so fortunate to have had both parents devoted to them when they were growing up.

Some unfortunately do not realize just how Lucky they have been. Some treat their living parents as if they are already dead.

What a waste of precious time.

And yes, Life indeed is Precious.

It can also be very short.

Long live the Memory of John Lennon!!!

40. Yoko Ono came from a wealthy family. She has had money all her life and definitely didn't need John Lennon's money. Yoko Ono didn't break up the Beatles. Anyone who knows the history of the Beatles knows that Paul McCartney filed for dissolution of the Beatles. He wanted out. The Beatles were feuding all the time and each had families they wanted to be with which lead to creative differences. Paul McCartney stated on Nightline one night that NO Yoko did NOT break up the Beatles as everyone thought.

Yoko Ono was famous before anyone had ever head of John Lennon. Do some web research. As far as her being Money hungry.. she is doing every thing in her power to keep John Lennon's memory alive and to protect her name as she very well should..John was her husband. They had a shaky relationship at times but I'm sure they were in this marriage for the long run. May Pang was chosen by Yoko to keep John company during their separation. May took it one step further. If anyone was looking for a meal ticket in John Lennon it was May Pang. I think she got disgruntled when John and Yoko reconciled. May also penned a book about her relationship with John to make a quick buck.

As for John marrying Yoko.. Cynthia and John were having marital problems long before Yoko came along. No one forced John to leave Cynthia. He chose to leave his first wife for a woman he found to be his soul mate. Again Cynthia made a quick buck off of John Lennon by penning her book. What has Yoko done to profit off the Lennon name? I only see her protecting the the name and legacy of John Lennon. Don't get me wrong I am not a Yoko fan but please put blame where blame is due.

All these comments about offing Yoko and she should be shot are pathetic.. I'm sure your parents would be so proud of their offspring... Sick Sick people

41. I agree with polacko (#15). AS IF! All you Yoko bashers need to get over yourselves. You give John Lennon absolutely no credit for being able to see something deeper than physical beauty (which she is by the way). Our idiot culture is more interested in the out side of a person rather than what is with in. Weather you like it or not, John chose her, not you, or us, so get over it all ready! What happened, happened. This is 2007 not 1964.

At least paris makes her own money - doing stupid things..but it is her own cash.

YOKO is ugly and I don't care if she was married to john lennon.. He wasn't that hot looking either.. Can you say GEEK???

But maybe they deserved each other - 2 happy toads together..

Cynthia should be happy at least - she is attractive & graceful!!!

44. Who cares about john lennon - he is dead and a bag of bones - but so is yoko.
Lennon was a world class prick!!!
Cynthia has more class than the two ( john & yoko )together!!!

Cynthia had suspicions of Lennon's infidelity over the years, and people had told her that he had had numerous affairs as far back as their time together at the art college in Liverpool, but Cynthia decided to ignore it, unless there was definite proof.[79]

After returning to Kenwood from India, Lennon got very drunk on scotch and coke and confessed that there had been "other women" during his time with Cynthia that he had had affairs with. He detailed every groupie, friends of Cynthia's, Joan Baez, Maureen Cleave, and told her about "thousands" of women around the globe.[80] Cynthia was totally taken aback and simply replied, "That's OK".[81] Two weeks later, in May 1968, Lennon suggested that Cynthia take a holiday in Greece with Mardas, Donovan and two friends. Lennon said that he would be very busy recording The White Album and that it would do her some good to take a break.[81]

The beginning of the end for their marriage came when Cynthia arrived back at Kenwood from Greece to discover Lennon and Ono sitting cross-legged on the floor, staring into each others eyes, and then found Ono's slippers outside their bedroom door).[82] Cynthia gathered a few things and asked Jenny Boyd and Mardas if she could spend the night at their apartment. At the apartment Boyd went straight to bed, but Mardas got Cynthia drunk and tried to convince her that they should both run away together. After Cynthia had been sick in the bathroom she collapsed on a bed in the spare bedroom, but Mardas joined her and tried to kiss her until Cynthia pushed him away.[83]

Lennon seemed absolutely normal when Cynthia returned to Kenwood the next day, and maintained his love for Cynthia and Julian.[84] Lennon went to New York with McCartney shortly after and told Cynthia she could not go with them, so Cynthia went on a trip to Italy with her mother.[85] Mardas appeared during Cynthia's holiday in Italy and broke the news that Lennon was planning to sue Cynthia for divorce on grounds of adultery, seek sole custody of Julian, and send Cynthia "back to Hoylake".[86] Cynthia said in 2005:

“ The mere fact that ‘Magic Alex’ [Mardas] arrived in Italy in the middle of the night without any prior knowledge of where I was staying made me extremely suspicious. I was being coerced into making it easy for Lennon and Yoko to accuse me of doing something that would make them not look so bad.”[87] ”

Cynthia was allowed to return to Kenwood, whilst Lennon and Ono took up residence at Ringo's flat ground floor and basement flat at 34 Montagu Square. Lennon and Cynthia had one last short meeting at Kenwood (with Ono alongside Lennon) but Lennon accused Cynthia of an affair in India—saying that she was no "innocent little flower".[88]

McCartney visited Cynthia and Julian that year, even though it was frowned upon by Lennon[citation needed]. On the way to Kenwood he composed a song in his head that would later turn out to be "Hey Jude".[89] Having just broken up with fiancée Jane Asher, he took Cynthia a single red rose, and asked jokingly "How about it, Cyn? How about you and me getting married now?" She never forgot the gesture — or the laugh they both had at the idea.[90]

Lennon refused to give his Cynthia anymore than £75,000, telling her on the phone, "That's like winning the pools, so what are you moaning about? You're not worth any more."[91] As Cynthia did not want to take half of Lennon's millions (as she would have been entitled to) because she did not want to go through a lengthy court battle, she accepted £100,000, plus £2,400 a year, custody of Julian and Kenwood. Their decree nisi was granted on 8 November 1968.[92]

Cynthia learned of Lennon's death while she was staying with friends in London. She received a call from Ringo Starr two hours after Lennon had been shot in New York on 8 December 1980.

“ I don't remember getting out of bed and going down the stairs to the phone. But Ringo's words, the sound of his tearful voice crackling over the transatlantic line, is crystal clear: 'Cynthia, I'm so sorry, John's dead.' In my stunned state I had only one clear thought. My son - our son - [Julian] was at home in bed I had to get back to Ruthin so that I could tell him about his father's death.[93]

45. May Pang, the young woman that Yoko Ono "approved" to be John Lennon's lover for the "Lost Weekend" back in the early seventies, was interviewed on Tuesday on the Greg Kihn morning show on KFOX 98.5 in San Francisco. Here are some highlights from the show.

May talked about how Yoko didn't want Julian around because "Yoko just didn't get along with Julian". May made it possible for Julian to see his Dad, John Lennon for the first time in the US when she was living with John in Los Angeles. May also made staying in touch with Julian a priority for John by having him call Julian at least once a week.

May said she listened coincidentally to many of the same rock n roll "B sides" growing up that John also listened to and was influenced by so they shared a common interest in music despite a 10 year age difference.

May spoke about John's songwriting style which was such that he would dream of the words or song in his sleep and wake up in the middle of the night and write down the words on pad of paper and black felt marker pen he would keep at the side of his bed before falling back to sleep. If he didn't wake up and write it down, he wouldn't remember anything in the morning. The words "Ah! böwakawa pousse, pousse" from the song #9 Dream on John Lennons' "Walls and Bridges" are not real words but just words from a dream. May is the female vocalist who says "John" over and over again in this song.

The same Friday night that Yoko setup the stop smoking hypnosis session with John at the Dakota without May, May said that John had planned on traveling down to New Orleans that weekend to join up with Paul McCartney and possibly start writing some songs with him for his upcoming album, 'Venus and Mars' that Paul was making in New Orleans. But alas, John's so-called one hour "stop smoking hypnosis session" turned into a long drawn out all weekend marathon session from which he never returned back to May or to his old life. May guesses that Yoko may have had John drugged, hypnotized and/or put into a trance. During the so-called hypnosis session, May believes that John was told to break off with May and everything in his past so he could be with Yoko and was told that Yoko was his "mother" who knows what is best for John. Several days later May finally ran into John at the dentist's office and John looked like he hadn't slept in days and appeared "zombie like" and had difficulty talking. Then a few months later, May found out that John has made a complete break with his past by no longer seeing anyone from his past except for Yoko. This break with the past also includes breaking off from his music which is symbolized by hanging a Civil War Dagger along with his guitar on a wall.

May remembered that Before John got back together with Yoko, he was planning on buying a house that he and May were to live in and that John had picked out. May said she lived with John for 18 months that she was with John.

If you missed Tuesday morning's Greg Kihn's radio interview with May Pang on KFOX FM98.5, you can still hear some of this interview with May as Greg will continue to play highlights over the next few weeks during his morning show, Mondays thru Friday, from 6am to 10am.
