36. I'm sort of confused too. If they own it then why can't they just say "Don't land your fat closet-queen cultist ass at our airport"?
At least they are courteous enough to make up a valid sounding excuse.
Is there some kind of law that says airport owners must accommodate any airplane that want's to land there? What if it was Osama bin Laden? Could they say no thank you?
I would just like to hear how Travolta thinks he has a lawsuit.

Correct me if I am wrong but in the past I think Mr. Travolta lived and kept his plane at another fly-in housing development that could not accomodate his new bigger 707 so he moved to Ocala and everyone was soooo thrilled. Now that the run way has been damaged everyone is NOT sooooo thrilled, obviously.

38. Travolta is so brainwashed, by that cult he aligns himself with, it is really a shame. And, that's exactly what cults do, "Brainwash!" Remember Jim Jones, David Karesh., etc. All their followers ended up dead, except the few, that managed to escape, from them. And, Scientology is not even believeable. How can the followers swallow that hog wash? Tom Cruise, I understand him, he hasn't got a brain in his ugly head. Katie, Run for your life!! Go back to your good, practicing Catholic parents. 40. First off, I live in Ocala and know Travolta's story very well. He lives in a community called Jumbolair. It is a privately owned community. The airport ownership and management is owned by James and Christine Garemore. After reading about the subdivision, it is understandable why they want to limit the types of planes that use the runway/taxiway. It is not an inexpensive fix! Also to have a plane of that magnitude land in your backyard, it will rattle a few windows. In addition, my father is a captain for a well respected airline who knows the Travolta’s. Travolta flies a Boeing 707 painted as Qantas. Travolta now flies into the Ocala airport and shuttles back and forth either in one of his smaller planes or by car. Sounds like someone has compromised! Might be slightly inconvenient but everyone benefits. Finally, before you go spouting off about other people, maybe some should do their research or just leave well enough alone!

41. I read most of the comments posted. My opinion is there is always two sides to every story. And for the most part only the bad tends to get posted. As for John, I think anyone posting ugly insults about him are jealous. Leave the guy alone. You have your beliefs and no one judges you, I don't think John would ever put his child in harms way. I am sure he is doing everything he can to get the right care for Jett. Again you only read the negative stuff. As for his money, he worked hard for it. He can buy and do what ever he wants with it. And he should still get the respect everyone else does. His money and fame doesn't make him a bad guy. He is no different from any of you out there. As for his size, honestly how many of you out there can say you still look the same as you did in the 70's? Get over yourself and give the guy a break, his religion, his fame, and his family. Like I was taught as a child, if you can't say anything nice about someone then don't say anything. Why dont John Travolta,,just work with the people at the airport and fix /repair the runway.. There are goverment grants for that...PEOPLE...!!

We had a smaller airport that had the same problem,,and got a goverment grant to fix/repair the runway.. So, larger - corporate plains could land there..

Maybe John should assit the airport with working on that project-goverment grants to fix the run way..Instead of turning it into a legal issue...!!

COME ON PEOPLE ,,,,WORK TOGETHER,,SOLVE THE THE ISSUE,,DONT CREATE ONE...

44. Hey, having an unflattering picture of Travolta in a bathing suit doesn't seem to have any connection to the story whatsoever. That he is heavier is really not even relevant to the data in the article. So, why put THAT picture in there?? To create bad news about the man.
I don't know what all the facts are of this situation and he may or may not have a legal point in his favor, but surely putting a picture like that next to it only has one purpose. It is not to present the facts about the article, but to slam the person.
