Travolta in Airport Trauma

High-flying John Travolta is in an uproar over an airport near his $8 million home in Florida. Travolta contends he was lied to(!) by owners of the Greystone Airport near Ocala, Fla., because they didn't want him to land his Boeing 707 there.

In a lawsuit filed Wednesday, the new Mrs. Edna Turnblad claims that Greystone owners James and Christine Garemore falsely told Travolta that they couldn't accommodate his jumbo jet. It's so tough owning your own plane!

Travolta says he used to use the Greystone airport all the time, but in 2006, the Garemore's changed the airport's master record to indicate that large planes could no longer land there. The Garemores cite deteriorating runway conditions as a major reason for the change.

But Travolta isn't buying it.

Said Michael J. McDermott, Travolta's attorney, "It's spin in order to cover his butt because he knows that he is in big trouble for doing what he did, and we intend to establish that."

There has to be more to the story than what's being reported here, it leaves too many open questions like - what would the OWNER of the strip be in "big trouble" for, it's their strip and with crashes due to poor strips, strips that are too short for some planes & so on I can't see why John would be mad instead of thankful that he doesn't go flying off a too short/damaged strip in a ball of flames one day..

94. First of all, Mr. Travolta states "He used to use the runway all the time". I'd say he is not telling the whole story - something has happened and now these owners don't want to put up with him any longer.
Face it, all runways wear out but sure those larger, heavier planes are just like semi's on our roads. Maintenance is a cost of doing business. I assured you that's not their main reason. As far as lying - give me a break, that's not a crime. He's having a temper tantrum!
Secondly, go easy, the man boobs aren't attractive but hey who out there looks as good as you did 30 yrs ago?

99. I LIVE IN OCALA,FL. HE'S BEEN LANDING HIS PLANE THERE SINCE 6 YEARS AGO AND THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. THEY JUST WANT TO FORCE HIM TO PAY MORE OR SOMETHING. IT'S STUPID, HE'S NOT HURTING ANYBODY.

103. #105. is right. Travolta has been nothing but GRACIOUS to our little town of Ocala. He's been spotted at normal joints like RED LOBSTER and even had the WILD HOGS premiere in Ocala and gave the proceeds to the LADY LAKE TORNADO VICTIMS!! He even lets the local high school use his clubhouse AT JUMBOLAIR for their homecoming dances! JUMBOLAIR IS JUST TRYING TO GET HIS MONEY!

105. POOR BABY, I just hate it for him that he can't land his 'jet' there anymore...and to think of all the people complaining because they can't afford to feed their children and pay their bills...whiners ! Sorry, NO I don't feel sorry for him one little bit.
