Celebrity Feuds
Kelly Backtracks on Clive Comments

Kelly Clarkson, Clive DavisAs stars are now prone to do, Kelly Clarkson took to her website to clear up her recent feud with record exec Clive Davis.

"I want to set the record straight on this by saying that I want my band, my advisors [sic], those close to me and my record label to be one big, tightly knit family," Clarkson wrote. "Like any family we will disagree and argue sometimes but, in the end, it's respect and admiration that will keep us together."

In this case, it looks like mommy and daddy have been fighting a lot and the kids are now in therapy!

The former Idol went on to say, "Contrary to recent characterizations in the press, I'm well aware that Clive is one of the great record men of all time." And by "recent characterizations in the press" perhaps she means the time she told USA Weekend, "I'm going to be real honest with you: I am not a fan [of Davis] ... I do respect him, but I don't want to barbecue with him. We don't braid each other's hair. And, despite the rumors, he is nowhere near a father figure."

And the press misconstrued that -- how?

31. Ok, who made her say this? Who wrote the words for her?

32. Kelly did the right thing. Clive Davis is old, he wants to turn everyone into a Barry Manilow. She SHOULD experiment, even if her sales weren't as good. Be true to yourself and your art, Kelly. You did the right thing.

33. She has more talent than S'hitney Smears. Stick it haters.

34. Disappointing really...Kelly has taken her fight to the media and managed to prove she's just a backwoods chick from Texas with no class whatsoever. She's compared herself to another Texas legend, Janis, and I'd like her see move toward that direcction and away from "I've been burned" era because she truly does have talent.

Show some class Kelly!

35. If it wasn't for American Idol, this loser singer would be still in the scrubs. Miles Davis is an icon in the music industry. Cut her loose, let her see just America thinks of people who get too big for their "boots". You are going to fall big right into a cholla cactus.

36. Kelly is young and having to learn everything really fast. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors. She seems like a reasonable person to me. She got rid of Clive and has Norvell Blackstock to manage her career who is also by the way from her hometown of Burleson Texas to get her back on track. He has done a great job managing his wife Reba , and they have a connection being from the same hometown. He will have her best interest at heart. She has a wonderful voice and I love her new album. I can't wait to see whats next.

37. How lazy have we become as a society that we have to type [sic] after a word we are not sure how to spell? How about going to the dictionary and making sure the spelling of the word is correct? How about just hitting the "check spelling" feature? ARE WE THAT LAZY???!!!! What?! Just because we type [sic] after the word, we are supposed to be saved from any ridicule? LAZY PEOPLE!!!

38. Her album is a mess! She is a mess! She can really sing BUT she has chosen to do the harsh yelling thing and the lyrics are ridiculous! She can't sell tickets to her shows because she has not remained true to her base. In her lastest attempts she sounds like metal on metal ~ grating!
She should listen to Clive Davis, he only has 50 some years of experience in the industry, he doesn't get her music, because it isn't music! And then her attitude sucked too!

39. POOR KELLY

I knew this would happen, she went against Clive Davis, and he COMMENCED to CRUSHING HER-------NOTHING HAS GONE RIGHT FOR HER SINCE.

You have to be SMART--------He knows EVERYBODY I mean EVERYBODY in the industry.

And you MUST show respect, why couldn't she comprimise with Davis and tell him can I at least include 3-4 songs of my own, then ONE DAY SHOUD COULD HAVE BEEN ON TOP.

I saw an IMMATURE side of her I've never seen before.

36 calls the old man "Miles" Davis

42. @ EB and The Superficial

Idiots, there is nothing wrong with how "advisors" is spelled. Maybe you shouldn't rely on something as stupid as your browser's spell check, which doesn't account for multiple variants.

43. Kelly has made many remarks in the media that should have been left unsaid. Fight the label if you must, but keep it behind closed doors. She acted like a child who thinks she knows more than her elders. In this case, she didn't.

BTW, mia, Kelly didn't get rid of Clive. She has a new publicist, but Clive is still her boss.

44. i think Reba's husband and reba could help influence Kelly in her career. I think that to me is a wise choice on her part

45. Kelly's fans will buy anything she sings. Guess I'm not much of a fan as this is one cd that won't be in my collection. Too silly, too angry. Why Clive let her put this mess out is a puzzlement. My guess is that he is letting her make her own mistakes. The cost will be hers.
