McCready 911 Tape -- "My Mom Is Attacking Me"

Moments before she was arrested in Florida Saturday night, country singer Mindy McCready told a 911 dispatcher that her mother had "attacked" her, and "made marks on herself to make it look like [Mindy] hurt her." A baby can be heard screaming in the background during the entire conversation.

A short time after Mindy made the call, Lee County Sheriffs arrested the singer after they saw scratches on her mother's face and said that McCready's breath reeked of alcohol -- despite Mindy's recorded claim that neither she nor her mother had been drinking or doing any drugs that night.

According to the arrest report, McCready "struggled" when sheriffs arrived, and had to be restrained. During the confrontation, she hit her head on the ground, which caused the gash on her face in the mugshot.

McCready was then taken to jail, where deputies say she was so disruptive, they were forced to use pepper spray to control her. McCready claims the cops abused her, and told a news station that she plans to take legal action.

31. What a shame. I was a radio dj when "Ten Thousand Angels" hit the charts and I used to nearly worship the ground she walked on. A great singing voice, drop dead gorgeous, with an incredible sweet personality. She sounds just as good as most of the other new female talent coming out of Nashville, and with the right songs and producer, could have a great career. It makes me really sad to see her wasting her life away, and becoming an alcoholic. She really deserves to treat herself better, and also get her career back on track for her and for what few fans still even recognize her name these days.

32. A "wealthy country music singer" . One hit song does not make her wealthy. And that was 11 years ago! My goodness, her mother should have pressed charges and maybe she would get the help she needs.

34. It is such a shame she has thrown her life away to booze and drugs, she had a promising career in Country Music and threw it all away. I hope she gets the help she needs. Poor girl...so sad

45. I had the privilege of seeing Mindy perform in the very early days of her career. She was so talented but completely unassuming and now, looking back, very unsure of herself. It is a shame that such a talent has not had the people around her to nourish her and encourage her talent and not her bad habits.
