The "Price Is Right" for Drew Carey!

Comedian Drew Carey confirmed to David Letterman today that he is indeed going to take over for Bob Barker as host of "The Price Is Right."

In a taping for tonight's episode of "The Late Show," Carey told Dave, "It's a done deal. I'm the new host of "The Price Is Right.'"

Drew told Dave that he found out the deal was complete while he was waiting to come out for the show. The deal is so fresh, Drew doesn't even know when he begins!

18. That's awesome news. Although he was never on my radar for candidates, the moment he was rumored to be in the running he was the perfect choice (i.e. Daniel Craig as James Bond!) Good for Drew! Nice guys get to finish first once and awhile...

I like Drew Carey. He's funny, polite, respectful, won't cause feuds and controversy with people. He's also intelligent, quick-witted, entertaining.

30. Not a good choice...but then, I doubt I'd be happy with anyone trying to take Bob's place. I always thought the show should die with Barker, but of course there is nothing practical in that sentiment. I can't say who SHOULD get the gig... Rosie would have been a HUGE mistake...George Hamilton?! Maybe. Todd Newton?! His relative obscurity might have been the way to go. But Drew Carey? I see Wayne Brady and Greg Proops improvising their way through the Showcase Showdown. Scary!!
