Baby Mama

Forcing QB

Out of the Pocket?

7/24/2007 7:10 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Matt LeinartHe's taken on some of the biggest, baddest men on the planet, but it's his baby mama who's hitting football stud Matt Leinart where it hurts the most -- his wallet!

TMZ has learned that the NFL pretty boy is locked in a raging legal fight with his ex-girlfriend, Brynn Cameron, over the couple's 9-month-old son Cole. According to sources close to the case, Brynn wants Matt to hand over more than $30,000 per month! That's a ton of jack for a 21-year-old living with her parents! According to sources close to the case, Leinart's pissed -- having already bought her a car, as well as voluntarily giving her around six grand a month. Leinart signed a six-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals in 2006 -- reportedly worth around $51 million.

We're told Leinart's also waging a "gung-ho" battle for custody, and recently filed a petition to establish paternity. Sources tell TMZ that the former USC star already "comes back to L.A. once a week, every week, to see the baby," but he wants a schedule where he can see the kid in Arizona as well. Unlike most pro athlete dads who have kids out of wedlock, we're told Matt is an engaged father who wants to be in his son's life.

But Cameron claims she's doing all the hard work when it comes to parenting, telling the Ventura County Star that Leinart "comes and goes whenever he wants ... he likes that Hollywood stuff and I don't like that."

The two are scheduled to hammer it out in court on August 13. Attempts to contact Cameron were unsuccessful. For more sports stories, check out tmzsports.com!

What does a baby need with$60,000 a month when he can't walk or talk and is only on formula or breast milk right now. Yeah they both were stupid for not using protection. BUT she is getting more than her share. Looks like she just wants a free ride to spend. the court should be making him make payments to a trust that she has to keep/ turn in reciepts on what she spends on the child per month just as alot of common people do.

This is insane. no woman should get over $2,000 a month no mater how much a he earns. no child costs that much to raise. I say if you can't raise a child for $2000 a month or less then you don't know how to be a parent and your ability to raise the child should be terminated.

All that matters is the law and it's on Ms. Cameron's side.

Leinart got bad legal advice. TMZ (Wasser's tool, apparently) says Leinart is "waging a "gung-ho" battle for custody, and recently filed a petition to establish paternity."

Leinart had a sweetheart deal a $6K per month. Maybe he should have tried to take the baby away from his mother - who loves him 24/7. Not just for photo ops and media statements (obviously written by his lawyer or publicist).

Cameron and Cole win - not the phony jock and his nasty lawyer.

I know both of them. Most of you people don't. They both care for one another. They just grew apart after she became pregnant. He has an inflated ego. She has a bruised ego. The monthly 30K is unrealistic - it's just a sum that is being bandied about by their money-guzzling lawyers.

It's true that ML still wants to sow his oats. If the supply of hot and horny chics would dry up and not interfer between these two young parents then BC would not be jealous and hiring an expensive lawyer to protect the best interests of Cole.

She's not a whore nor about squandering money on designer clothes, handbags, a Mcmansion and car. She does shop at a discount Mall in Camarillo, California for designer items like the rest of us do. She's more about picking up the phone to call a stockbroker and making savvy investments to route into Cole's trust account. Both sets of parents and grandparents are decent people. TMZ needs to back off from defaming decent families and stick to sensationalizing the misfits. I cannot imagine why any of you would want to recklessly bash baby Cole's parents - Matt and Brynn.

I seriously doubt she will end up getting $30 grand a month, 50cent only pays $25 grand a month and he is worth way more than Matt..

P. Ditty has hundreds of millions and heres what he pays for his 1st kid ..

the Family Court erred in awarding $ 35,000 in monthly child support to
the mother. Instead, the mother should have been awarded monthly
child support in the sum of $ 21,782.08 to satisfy the child's actual
needs and to afford him an appropriate lifestyle

I dont agree with her asking for 30K....what could a 9-month old need that she needs 30K...I dont spend 30K on my child and he has everything his little heart desires...this broad just wants his $$$ and wants to have it easy because she has a baby with a Pro Football player...6K is more than enough for his child to live and have everything the child needs and wants...i hope they dont give her anymore...as a matter of fact i hope they cut it down!!!! Its females like her that give hard working mother a bad name....SHAME ON HER!!!!!

All that matters is the law and it's on Ms. Cameron's side. Make no mistake, if it goes before a judge, Leinart will be paying a lot more than $6K per month. He's happy to have his baby living with grandparents, while he lives the high life?

TMZ (Laura Wasser's tool, apparently) says Leinart is "waging a "gung-ho" battle for custody, and recently filed a petition to establish paternity." Like it would be a GOOD thing for Mr. Party to have custody, instead of his grounded, loving mother. Leinart's PR machine is going to hit some nasty speedbumps if all the stuff about what kind of father he really is comes out.

He will settle. The law is on Ms. Cameron's side.

Those of you who bash the mother just sound envious and jealous, by the way.

well he should totally have to pay up. she was the one who had to put her athletic career behind her not him. She was a starting senior for the lady trojan basketball team but she got pregnant and had to stop. he didn't have to worry about it. He still got to play.

If everyone is so concerned that the baby have enough money to be supported in a adequate way, maybe he should have custody. I mean, I'm sure that's all that she wants the money for. To make sure her baby has a proper education and a good place to live... Wierd, he can provide those things too? And you say it's LESS than 30k p/mo to fly her first class to AZ 4 times a month? Having a kid doesn't mean someone should make your mortage/car/credit card payments every month. If he is better suited to care for the child, then he should be primarily responsible, and SHE should find a way to make time to see the baby once every other weekend.... on her own dime.... at the expense of her personal life. Grow up.

The $51 million is over 6 years which averages out to be appr. 8.3 million a year. He'll have to pay uncle sam taxes out of that which will be at least $95,000.00 per year. I agree that he needs to support his child, and all that childs needs should be coverered. However I also believe at the time this child was conceived which would have been while he was in college she in more likely cases was seeing dollar signs. True enough he should have taken precautions to protect himself, however that does not in my opinion mean he needs to support HER for the rest of HER life. He needs to take care of his child and I think women like this who stand to be awarded so much money for a child should have to maintain a savings account for that child out of that support for future needs. No child needs $30.000.00 per month to live off of. Out of that $360,000.00 per year she will get at least 20% of that should be mandatory savings. After all what if he gets a career ending injury. I don't think at 21 years of age, all that money would be spent on that baby and his/her needs.

Correction on my previous entry. His taxes for one year would be approximately $950,000.00.

I usually don't post on these forums but I'm so sick of seeing this. First let me say I am a woman so no one thinks for a minute that this is a man making these comments. I totally believe that yes, he should pay to support his child. He helped make the baby so he definitely has a responsibility to HELP support it. HELP. He should not be the sole financial provider of the child. Granted, he makes $51million over 6 or so years, which is roughly $8.5 million a year and then take out some tax and he's still VERY well-off.

Here is where I see the problem. He and this girl were together for a few years before he was drafted. No pregnancies. Almost immediately after the draft, no, I think it was right before, amazingly she came up pregnant. Am I pointing fingers, no, but I do believe everyone should be aware of the cycle this is creating. This is not just a simple matter of pay this amount or that amount. Whatever amount he is ordered to pay will never put a serious dent in his pocket because there are laws that limit the amount of child support (so it's not like she'll ever get 60% or 70% of his pay or anything). But just the fact that she can have a baby and fight to get $30k a month, $360K per year, is disturbing.

This cycle has created what is now known as "PROFESSIONAL CHILD SUPPORT COLLECTORS." This is tragic. Women willing to have a baby with hopes of getting rich. As we are starting to see, it's not race or sport specific, it's happening to everyone and everywhere. Most of these women weren't even in relationships with these men when they got pregnant (Matt was already off and dating someone else when she actually got pregnant -- and no, sleeping together doesn't constitute a relationship). So rather than thinking of having a nuclear family for your child to grow up and prosper in, it's more of, I'll have this baby, so what if his father isn't here all the time, it's worth it for the money I'll get every month.

Do I have a solution, no. I would not want a child to suffer financially (with a father who obviously has so much) just to teach the mother a lesson; and I don't know what type of lesson would be good for the father that wouldn't reward the mother. In any event, I think it's a terrible terrible thing they're doing and no matter what amount of money is granted for child support, that money will never take the place of a Father in that child's life.

Also, in addition to my previous comment a lot of people are not privy to the "extras" that these fathers do for their children. Yes, he may pay only $6K for child support and just bought her one car, but generally in these cases (and no I'm not saying in ALL) the father also takes care of other expenses without being ordered to such as private school, clothes, vacations, general children wants/needs, etc. And all of this in addition to the $6K the mother is already getting. So what is her $6K being spent on?
