Michael Lohan -- Stay Away from Lindsay or Else

Michael Lohan is acting like a concerned parent, but TMZ knows better.

Lohan, who is on parole, has been ordered to stay away from Lindsay. Law enforcement sources tell us the order was issued last month by the New York State Division of Parole, Central Long Island Bureau.

In addition to staying away from Lindsay, the Parole Board ordered Michael to keep his distance from Lindsay's lawyer, Blair Berk. We're told the order was issued after Michael made "repeated, unreciprocated contacts" with Lindsay and Berk.

We're told the Board has told Lohan it will violate his parole if he attempts to make contact with his daughter or her lawyer.

32. Show us the proof. I don't believe this story. It may be a condition of Lohan Pere's parole that he cannot leave NY, but that surely wouldn't extend to phone calls to his daughter. I smell Lohan Mere behind this.

33. Wow, I've never heard of parole boards telling parents if they contact their kid it'll be a violation of their parole . . . isn't the proper procedure for Lindsay to file a petition for a restraining order? Special treatment?

Also, I used to tutor a 'tween whose mom had lost custody of her and even though she was in and out of jail for drugs/prostitution/theft/simple assault/etc and totally unreliable, the state still encouraged fostering a relationship because parental bonds unless the parent endangers the welfare of the child are so important.

I'm not convinced even if the Lohans aren't parents of the year that a complete lack of guidance isn't the lesser of two evils . . . tough call though . . .

37. Oh, on second thought Lindsay probably did file for a restraining order and that's why it's been tacked on to her dad's parole? And I guess now that she's 21 the parental stuff doesn't count with regards to getting a restraining order? Wow that's kind of sad though if she's maybe doing more harm to herself than good in the sense that the people who surround her are probably even more about taking what they can get from her than her parents . . . I'm not fooled by her lawyer's fresh-scrubbed Ricki Lake smile - she looks like a wolf in sheep's clothing!

43. Its true-- if you are on parole or probation, you cannot associate with someone else with a criminal record. i don't think its a good law. LiLo's dad, who's learned the hard way could help her find the way. Addiction can be or is genetics.

I am adoptive mom of a girl with addictive parents. She went on the dark side. I went shrink to shrink, till finally one told me about the genetics of it. I thought he was crazy. So I told another, and another. He was right.

My adopted daughter went thru rehab once-- and has had no problem since. It was the toughest thing in my life, to admit, as a parent who is supposed to "fix things" that this was out of my control. But this tough love mom made it clear-- her failure was not an option. She's a wonderful adult with children of her own.

If you don't have an addiction its practically impossible to understand. If I don't want a drink I don't have a drink. If I am driving, I don't have a drink. But no matter the consequence, some people will drink. That is where you cross the line from party gal to problem. You know the consequence and you continue. You can't stop.

Like I said, if you haven't dealt with addiction, you can't understand. Its a whole bunch more than some partying stuck up brat who thinks she's above it all. Its a huge monkey to deal with. She has a long road ahead of her.
