19. It is so tragic that she threw away a promising career and ruined her life.
I saw this young woman back in the late 90's at a concert in St. Louis and again when
she made an unannounced appearance at a Brian White concert I think was in 2000.
She was lovely and talented and had everything going for her. She seemed to spiral
down shortly after her broken engagement.
I only hope that she has reached rock bottom so that maybe she can turn her life
around. She has a young child who needs her.

20. This is sad. I can't believe they picked her up directly at the airport and didn't allow her to turn herself in at the jail. I mean she was headed back to Nashville,not running away.

27. Doesn't Mindy have a baby (he is probably a toddler now) with her abusive ex? If so was the baby with her? That poor little one. It is so sad when a child is involved.

28. My, my, my, where do I begin? This woman is starting to remind me of "Candy Slice", an SNL character that the late Gilda Radner played brilliantly in the late 70s.

The Candy Slice character was a rock star (rumored to be modelled after rocker Patti Smith) addicted to cocaine, constantly appeared and acted wasted, and even wretched while singing her outlandish rock numbers. Her cut "Gimme Mick" (song about Mick Jagger) was a riotous comedic success. Drug-oriented humor was very prominent in American pop culture in those days.

OK, I am showing my age. My point is: roll the calendar forward several decades, change the genre of the music, replace "Candy" with "Mindy", move the location from NYC to the South, and there you are.

Only no one is laughing at this spectacle. This destructive pattern with these nouveaux riches celebrity types happens over and over, generation after generation. It's just so sad.

30. I am saddened only that she has a small child that has to bear witness to the craziness. I can only hope she pulls herself together for her child... trainwreck is right!
