Art Linkletter Turns 95

Former "House Party" host and TV pioneer Art Linkletter had his own house party last night at Mr. Chow, celebrating his 95th birthday! He's also been married to wife Lois for 72 years. Give this guy a medal!

Our TMZ Star Kvetcher camera caught the nonagenarian in a snappy tie and tweed coat, and he was happily chatty, remembering when "Merv Griffin weighed 300 pounds in the '40s and was singing with Freddie Martin in San Francisco." Linkletter, along with Merv, is said to be one of the wealthiest men in entertainment, having invested in everything from oil and natural gas to hotels and even the Hula Hoop!

Linkletter was the host of the opening of Disneyland in Anaheim -- in 1955, and is 16 years older than Mickey Mouse! Art was born the year the Titanic sank ... during the Taft administration! And now he's on TMZ ... with Lindsay Lohan. Linkletter has been an anti-drug activist since losing his 20-year-old daughter Diane in 1969, in what was believed to have been a drug-induced suicide.

Art just published his 28th book, "How To Make The Rest of Your Life The Best of Your Life."

32. It always amazes me to see how this man is bragging about his age. This old geezer was so MEAN to my aunt when she was 72. He told her to "go sit down you old lady". It really crushed her.

35. Art:
Happy Birthday. I recall many, many years ago after the death of your son you made a comments on TV about drug use. At that time I had a problem with diet pills for years. Your comments opened up my eyes and today I am an adult who has a Graduate Degree, beautiful home, drive a Lexus, married a man in the medical field and made something of my self. Though small hometown people never let you forget your sins in the past, I have out ranked them wearing my Rolex, Jewels and know now they are envious.

Thank You ART for you did help save a life.

36. I saw him on TBN last month. He talked about his life and it was fascinating! His voice is young, his mind is sharp and he looks great for 95. If you ever get the opportunity to hear him speak...its a real treat.

Happy Birthday Art!

38. God Bless him. I honestly didn't know he was still alive. Had alot of tragedy in his life. His daughter jumped out of a window and killed herself while on LSD. He sure was much loved by several generations. Happy Birthday Art!

39. Art was a pro VietNam war Hawk. He blamed his child's death on alot of different things rather than the truth.

He is currently the head of USA Next - a right-wing lobbying organization that is an advocate of current Bush administration's policies. They are anti-gay marriage, anti-gay and seriously anti-AARP. Do a little research. Art's a little dicey...

40. The vast majority of today's celebrities can't even hold a CANDLE to the class and integrity his generation has. Happy birthday Mr. Linkletter!

41. Art Linkletter was THE MAN with his kid's show... he was great. Watching him listen -- actually LISTEN to the kids -- gave me a reassurance that adults really could and would listen to what I had to say. And he dealt with kids as young, responsible, important people...little people, but people nonetheless.

Happy Birthday, Mr. Linkletter! Here's to a great life!

45.

Congratulations TMZ !!!

Now you need to have MUCH MORE worthy people on your site.

Indeed, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mr. Art Linkletter !!!!!

You are the envy of a lot of people.

Very few people can make it to 95, let alone being of
Sound Mind and Body.

Although I never met your wife, she probably has something to do with your longevity.

Here's Wishing you many more birthdays!!!
