Slater to Lohan: I Feel Your Pain

Note to Lindsay Lohan -- there's hope. Christian Slater is walking proof.

TMZ cameras spotted Slater outside of Koi last night, where he talked to our cameraman about the troubled Lohan, saying he's "Been there!" Slater, who co-starred with Lilo in "Bobby" last year, definitely feels Lindsay's pain -- having been popped for a DUI before his 21st birthday, followed by a string of other arrests and a short stint behind bars.

The talkative "Heathers" star told TMZ as he waited for the valet, "I certainty can't judge ... I support her a million percent, it's not an easy deal, not an easy town." Once his troubles settled, Slater went on to star in the critically acclaimed "Alone in the Dark" with Tara Reid and "Hollow Man 2," but they say you've gotta hit rock bottom before you can get better, right?

"Slater went on to star in the critically acclaimed "Alone in the Dark" with Tara Reid "...

Hahahahahaha!! That's the funniest thing I've read in a long while. "critically acclaimed"??
By whom?! The films a piece of crap and I don't think anyone on this planet who's actually seen it, can say good things about it.

critically acclaimed...LOL!

33. He is still hot and talented. He might have made a few movies for the paycheck but who hasn't? Hi has anyone sat through a Sam Jackson movie? Everyone does it!

He is great! Heathers says it all!

35. There was a study conducted by American PSY Association with regards to results in AAA and Drug abuse treatment of both male and female patients. The results were not very promising for our female population. In both cases female and male patients were treated equally, during same time perion and with the same medication and therapy. At the end of 90 day evaluation: 75% of men were totally recovered and 25% stayed for additional treatment, there were only 25% of women recovered and 75% left with no desire to continue treatment. What does it tell you? Don't try to play a gender card with me. I am a female physician.

36. As Dalifemme 77 pointed out, "Alone In The Dark" is anything but "critically acclaimed".

Unless you were being sarcastic (and I don't think you were) that has got to be one of the most ignorant statements ever made.

You could have at least mentioned the top notch thriller "Kuffs" while you were at it lol

As far as critically acclaimed Slater movies, I am sure he has a few but the only ones that come to mind for me are "Heathers" and "True Romance"

39. I love Christian Slater!

Has-been? I don't think so. He's been on Broadway. I saw him in "The Glass Menagerie" a couple of years ago and he was fabulous. Way better than Jessica Lange, IMO.

40. SHOPARAZZI -

First I like your name!
It took me a very long time to admit I really had a problem. I also did the lying, stealing & cheating, but bottom line I finally learned I was only cheating myself.

I also did not do this in 1 rehab stint. It took about 3 times. It's sad & I didn't go to places like promises or such but when I finally realized this is what I needed to do to keep my children & live a normal life, not chasing a bag, that's when the program started working. It will take her time too, IF SHE WANTS IT, it's really a long process and takes a lot more than 30 days & no shopping sprees while in rehab. Also, a lot of working the program after rehab, NA & AA meetings, etc. etc.

NOONE IS HELPLESS.....I AM LIVING PROOF

What did you mean by the gender comment? I thought I read them all but didn't see one that addressed that.

BTW, as a person in recovery, as well as a substance abuse counselor (no, I don't think that makes me better) I do take exception with your comment about being "totally recovered". That IMO, is just not true. You are never recovered, no matter how much sobriety you may have.
I don't doubt that your figures are correct but it has been my experience that women have a better recovery rate, as they are more willing to take advantage of the resources available to them. That's not to say men don't accept the resources but as women, we usually "get it" sooner. The percentage of people that stay sober is dismal, at best. When I was in tx, they said 10% and that turned out to be true. That figure is only for the people than never relapse and get it the first time. Obviously, the no. is greater post relapse for those that make it back.

this is MY OPINION only, based on 10+yrs. of working in the recovery field, however, it does not confirm that I know more than you.

43. Irene, I'm with you girl. I've got almost 10 years under my belt and several stints with rehab before I got there. I know this board is for Slater posts and such, but yes you have to want to recover for yourself and not for others. She's not there yet, but she's behaving like a dry drunk, still got the behaviors.....people who have never been there don't understand what it's like to be there. It's hell.....people don't judge, lest you be judged yourself.

44. Susan, 10+ years in Rehab is impressive. Bravo! I still confirm with more than 10,000 examples that men are better patients if they decide to go through the program. I have not mentioned agonizing hours, weeks and sometimes years of temptation to slide back into same habits that originally brought them to Rehab centers, clinics both private and public. No amount of money, fame or judicial systems can help you if you can't find strength in yourself and your family, if you are lucky to have support at home. Women happen to be more creative in bending the rules and hiding their habits. They can be in denial for years before they realize that they lost everything. But, hei, you had more luck with recovered women, good for you. I applaud.
