Britney Bodyguard Thumps Photog

UPDATE: According to a press release issued by the Las Vegas P.D. and obtained by TMZ, "Britney also filed a crime report on behalf of her minor child." In the report, Britney claims the photog "battered both Mr. Camera and Ms. Spears' child, who was at that time being held by the security officer."

The Wynn also issued a release stating Spears "elected to leave the resort on Thursday afternoon, July 26, of her own accord." The had no comment beyond that.

Las Vegas police cited Britney's bodyguard last night in Las Vegas, for putting the smackdown on a photographer from Flynet agency.

The bodyguard, Julio Camera, nicknamed J.C., allegedly attacked the photog from behind after the lensman accidentally bumped Brit's older son, Sean. J.C. is accused of laying the beating on him while he was on the ground, as Wynn Hotel personnel rushed to pull the overzealous hire-a-thug off the lensman.

The photog was treated for his injuries and charges will likely be filed.

46. OH PLEASE! Anyone who blames the photographer is an idiot. Britney/Lindsey/Paris/Nicole live for this crap they beg to have their pictures taken and for all of us to comment about how pretty/talented/cool they are. They want to have the photographers swarming around them. And if anyone is atfault, it is Brittney for putting her kid in danger like that. She knows the score. She knows how she drives the paparzzi wild. She knew exactly what she was getting into. It's what she wants. Her bodyguard needs to go to jail... a place I am sure he is familiar with.

49. Usually I am seriously judgmental of Britneys situation but in this case the bodyguard did what he is paid to do and that is protect the family. If someone bumped into my little son you can be darn sure my husband would have been all over him as well.

50. If anyone should be charged, it should be Britney. It's very clear to me, that
she puts her self in positions to get publicity. My advice to her, is go home
and raise your kids in a child friendly environment. I keep wondering why
Child Protective Services hasn't done anything to protect her children.
Hopefully, it will before something very serious happens to them.

60. A judge cannot ignore that a over zealous photog was that close to a one year old boy. There was no need of him running into Sean, it should be considered child endangerment. I don't like her but I do think Brit will win this.
