UPDATE: The photo used for the cover art is actually a few years old. Shocking! TMZ stands firmly behind the remainder of the story.

Funnylady/gay icon Kathy Griffin will be featured in an article in the next Steppin' Out magazine scored by editor Chaunce Hayden. Congrats to the "D-List" comedienne -- whose dream has finally come true! She nabbed the cover! Atta gurl! Wait -- is that KATHY??

Congratulations are also due to the miraculous Photoshopping staff at Steppin' Out. Griffin is literally airbrushed within an inch of her penis! If you took Tori Spelling, made her hot and gave her Hilary Duff's body, you'd get their version of Kathy. Though the redheaded comic is barely recognizable on the cover, unlike Andy Roddick, it's doubtful that Kathy will have any issues with her new look.

17. Gee and they wonder why girls in the US have eating disorders/image issues... When every cover shot of every celeb is airbrushed to death and no-one looks like themselves and everyone is perfect, how on earth is a 15 year old girl NOT supposed to have issues when she looks at herself and sees reality. Sad fact of today's society. Perfection sells.

19. Kathy, is by far one of if not the most entertaining comedian/ everthing else on the airway today. Keep up what your doing Kathy, you know the old saying if your still employed you are still recognizeable. That said you should have no problems with employment in the future and I hope to see you sitting next to Barbara Walters one day. HANG IN THERE BETTER THINGS ARE YET TO COME.

25. Let's just face it...Kathy is not a pretty girl. No matter what she does...she is still not a pretty girl. Whatever they did to this photo to make her look attractive, if, in fact, that really is her...she will blow this sucker up into a life size photo and paste it on her wall. Again, Kathy is not a pretty girl, never has been....never will be. I think she's tacky to the max. She's not all that funny. I'm way funnier than she is...if I wanted to be a stand-up...I would be huge cause I'm funny. LOL.

And she didn't get the job on The View. She wasn't funny on her appearances on The View. She's crude and rude and for me, that doesn't equal funny. She needs to get a job at Taco Bell.

27. I love Kathy. Love her D list show and am rooting for her to be on the View if she wants it, though she's so above all of them there, including Barbara Walters and TMZ, she has a rocking' body on her own. Congrats Kathy for making the cover. Love you!
