UPDATE: The photo used for the cover art is actually a few years old. Shocking! TMZ stands firmly behind the remainder of the story.

Funnylady/gay icon Kathy Griffin will be featured in an article in the next Steppin' Out magazine scored by editor Chaunce Hayden. Congrats to the "D-List" comedienne -- whose dream has finally come true! She nabbed the cover! Atta gurl! Wait -- is that KATHY??

Congratulations are also due to the miraculous Photoshopping staff at Steppin' Out. Griffin is literally airbrushed within an inch of her penis! If you took Tori Spelling, made her hot and gave her Hilary Duff's body, you'd get their version of Kathy. Though the redheaded comic is barely recognizable on the cover, unlike Andy Roddick, it's doubtful that Kathy will have any issues with her new look.

47. Go Kathy, my hubby and I love ya! Congrats on the haters you have out there - it means you're doing something right! Thank you for telling it like it is. Anyone who watches your show knows that you (or Jessica or Tiffany) are probably reading this right now! Who says mag covers are only for tweens & twentysomethings - but why didn't you do a new photo shoot? We know it's an old pic, you've shown it on your Bravo show before. You rock, and those who disagree - "Everybody Can Suck It!"

49. #31 I'm sorry but Paula's show is HORRIBLE that's probably why you never see any of the episodes on Bravo. Yes I do agree I hate re-runs but if you havn't seen Paula's show trust me you havn't missed out on nothing. I watched the first episode and I was like, why would they do a show on her??? What? just to show how really weird and crazy she is? Trust me no substance at all. But even her wacky moments were not entertaining at all.

51. I love Kathy, too but Steppin' Out did not do the Photoshop job. Kathy had a bunch of photos retouched for her a few years ago by someone named Suzette Troche-Stapp AKA the Glitterguru of Photoshop. She's a semi-famous glamour photo retoucher and wrote a book on Photoshop that some of Kathy's photos appear in.

53. Love her! Who isn't airbrushed on a cover these days? At least Kathy is honest about her looks and "touch ups" unlike 99% of other people in this town who show up with a new face and have the nerve to say they've never had plastic surgery!

54. I LOVE Kathy and I am sure she loves the pic - and any pic that would land her in a Mag. HOWEVER, I personally do not like the pic. I think her minor (and I repeat minor) flaws are what gives her character. She is beautiful on the inside which makes her outward appearence even more beautiful! I say give me the real Kathy Griffin or dont give me anything at all!

56. I like to consider myself as one of Kathy's straight's ( you know she has her gay's), she is the best. Her show is awesome. The Emmy is definitely hers this year. Hopefully she won't have to give the finger to the cast of Extreme Home Makeover!!! :)

I watch her show and laugh, Sometimes she goes to far for me
