Gore Goes Guilty

Al Gore III pleaded guilty Monday to possessing marijuana and other drugs, but a judge told the former Veep's son he can withdraw that plea and have the charges dropped if he successfully completes a drug diversion program. What a bargain!

Cops say the 24-year-old was going 100+ MPH in his Prius on an Orange County freeway when they pulled him over. Multiple drugs were found in his car.

Gore pleaded guilty to two felony counts of drug possession, two misdemeanor counts of drug possession without a prescription, and one misdemeanor count of marijuana possession.

He will be sentenced on February 7.

What I find to be most amazing about this is it is has been very sparsley reported on in the news. And noone is questioning the child rearing skills of Al Gore at all. If this was one of the Bush daughters, you can bet it would be all over the new for weeks and there would be public outcries over this sentence. Shame on the liberal media....

Where's the outrage like the bush girls trying to buy a stinkin marquerita? This isn't this kid's first brush with the law while driving in a car like a car.

He was not accused of DUI, he was arrensted for having weed and pharmy's in the car and driving too fast. He was not determined to be driving whie impaired.

First time offender, and the DA usually offers diversion in these cases.

Nothing to do with him being white.

I like how this was whitewashed and NEVER reported in the media...

Favortism cause its Gore's son? You betcha! If one of Bush's kids, Cheney's kids, McCain's kids would've done the same thing they'd still be crucified by the press and the parenting skills of the parents would most definitely be called into play.

But because its DEMOCRAT Al Gore's son, nothing is mentioned in the news, and of course the younger Gore gets a free pass.

He gets to withdraw his guilty plea? Excuse me? He should go down as a convicted felon, and as such should lose his right to vote! If it were any of us "middle" Americans, you bet no such deal would be forthcoming for us...

WTG Al & Tipper, you've raised a true PILLAR of the community (insert sarcasm)....What a joke!

Yeah justice can be bought...yeah there is a double standard for sure. The Younger Gore should spend some time in the pokey, but thanks to his name, he gets off with a slap on the wrist.

He was charged with drug possession, not a DUI.

This is not some rich kid getting off with a slap on the hand, this is the usual sentence for a 1st time offense of drug possession. I was given the same sentence, did my diversion, and 18 months later, the charges were dropped. Unless you have priors or were selling, this is typical.

Costamesaboy - This is not his first offense. He was busted for possession in Maryland several years ago. Got a plea deal for rehab.

The judges must be related.

2Americas, the prior possession charge was expunged from his record as he completed his rehab and probation. So in affect, this is seen as a first offense.
