Lane Garrison Relives Deadly Drunk Driving Crash

TMZ has obtained a chilling video in which former "Prison Break" star Lane Garrison relives the night someone died while he drove drunk behind the wheel of a car.

Fighting back tears and with his voice trembling, Garrison has gone back in front of the cameras -- to record a powerful and graphic public service announcement was directed by Andrew Gallery for The Troy and Alana Pack Foundation.

Hoping to prevent people from making the same deadly mistake he did in the December 2006 crash night, which resulted in the death of 17-year-old Vahagn Setian, Garrison warns drivers, "Just don't drink and drive, it's not worth it, it's just not worth it." Eerily realistic recreated footage of a drunk driving accident plays between clips of Lane's emotional plea. Amid the devastating wreckage, a frantic woman can be heard screaming "My boyfriend is dead!"

Garrison pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter, felony DUI with bodily injury and one misdemeanor count of providing alcohol to a minor. Sentencing is scheduled for August 2.

31. Amen #21! I think people who have lost family members to drunk drivers should be paid to travel the country and tell their stories to all the idiots who are still our there drinking and driving - this is what happens! This is why it is illegal to drink and drive! People die because of their dumb actions.

32. For all of you who say that Paris shouldn't get jail time because her offenses didn't justify it or think that Nicole is too fragile to be locked up, or that Lindsay's problems are due to her parents and she should be excused ---watch this.

Then, get angry! Get angry that Nicole was caught going down the WRONG WAY on the Freeway in the early morning hours on her 2nd DUI and only got less than 5 days in jail. Do you think that's right? If she plowed into a van of taking kids to school, where would she be now? Try 30 YEARS. Worse yet, where would those kids be?

It's time for all the hollywood types to stand up and start to put some serious restrictions and consequences on their "stars". The drugs, the drink, and the fake rehabs have been going on for years. Yet, nothing is done. So, it's time for us to stand up and demand that something be done before yet another person is tossed onto the street from the stupidity of someone like Lindsay, Paris, and Nicole.

Stop seeing any shows or movies made by them! Don't buy products associated with them. When the execs in the gray suits realize that stuff like this is going to hit them in the pocket book, then maybe they will finally stop looking away and actually do something about it.

And, to the judges out there... throw the book at them and lock them up LONGER than the general population. Yes, LONGER. Why? Because it's a deterrent to others who might think that it's OK to do stuff like this and get away scott free. I don't care what's "fair" for them. Life is not "fair". What I care about is the message it sends to thousands of teens who don't know the true meaning of their actions.

Drinking or taking drugs while driving is a bad thing. A real bad thing. Let's start treating it that way!

This is not a political site, Someone died ok? Let go of Bush for Gods sake, he is gone too.You people will hang on to him like a blanket!
About the rest of your post...I don't feel being an actor can take away from the fact he took someone's life. He still wakes up everyday knowing he killed someone, Video agenda or not.

34. ACCORDING TO TMZ Posted Jul 30th 2007 1:50PM by TMZ Staff
This isn't Gore III's first arrest. He was charged with marijuana possession in 2003 and was ticketed for reckless driving in 2000 and 2002.

UMMM I DUNNO BUT THIS LOOKS LIKE HIS 2ND ARREST FOR DRUGS...
NOW WHAT EXCUSE YOU GONNA GIVE FOR HIM NOW..
WHERE'S THE OUTRAGE!!!

35. I feel bad for all involved - including the actor. I think back to when I was a kid .. in high school and.. the ad is right - I was lucky nothing happened to me and lucky I didn't kill anyone. I don't drink and drive anymore - out of "common sense", but I think it's highly ignorant of us to damn this kid. Most of us have made mistakes and we've hopefully learned from them. For every action, there's a consquence and if he goes to jail .. it's simply a consequence of his actions - and no celebrity should be above the law. I do think he should lose his license, be forced to do community service for the rest of his life and pay a steep fine (money going toward MADD), but to call him a "bastard" and hope they lock him up serves no purpose. He's human and he made mistake. Forgive him. Should he do it again, then lock him up. We all deserve a second chance, though.

36. I agree with Real Blue eyes. Let's wait and see if another minor-mini-celeb gets off with a slap on the wrist.

37. Human flesh should be cooked at 400 degres for about 25 minutes, (or untill the meat falls right off the bone) i prefer to use a butter garlic seasoning

38. No, it didn't "happen to you". You did it. That POS. The whole thing fell apart at the end, because he took no responsibility. Shame on the producers of that video.

39. my 16 year old cousin died in an all too similar accident and the drunk driver of the car she was in only got 2 years in prison. that is nothing compared to what our family has to go thru everyday. i just have faith that he will always remember what he did and hopefully people around us learn not too drink and drive ever!

40. that was WAY too long for a PSA. the impact at the end was chilling, but too long coming and WAY over done. and let's not forget that this guys is an ACTOR and does it for a living. how about the dead kid's mom or some of his friends do a PSA. that would have WAY more impact on kids then some actor doing it.

and now it's time for the real deal: how much time is this guy going to get in jail?

41. I honestly think that all of the people who read and follow the escapades of these
"Stars" with such facination should get a life. There are millions of alcoholics and
drug dependant people out there and volunteers in their recovery are always welcome.
Maybe more people should get involved in "helping", instead of spending hours and
hours following the stories. Pathetic!

42. He's getting WAAAAYYY too much credit!!! He is NOT A KID - A KID WAS KILLED...

This is NOT about Paris or Linsay or Nicole or even Britney - This is about LANE GARRISON!!!! Let us try to stay focused.

Additionally - people who ARE NOT stars go out and drink, drive and use drugs every day - THESE are the folks who need to be reached because chances are more likely that they will hit you or a loved one than Britney, Lindsay, Paris or Nicole!!!!!

43. I commend Lane Garrison for participating in the making of this very important video. It could not have been easy for him to do. He has the luck of being alive, which one of his victims unfortunately does not. He will have to go to jail and live with the fact that he took a life for an absolutely selfish and unneccessary reason. That is a punishment in and of itself. Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, all of whom have repeatedly disregarded human life and hopped behind the wheel for a spin after being drunk beyond question have 6-7 DUI charges between them over the past few years. It is a miracle they have not yet taken a life. I can only hope and pray that they never do. Maybe they should watch this video like 1,000,000 times over and over to get it into their air-headed-heads that they are not better than the rest of us, they are not superhuman and are all capable of causing grave and bodily harm to us all. It's only a matter of time before one or more of them falls off the wagon and pulls a Lane Garrison. Let's hope he's the last.

44. how freakin sad i mean alot of ppl get killed cuz of drunk drivers, my cousin did how hard is it to get a ride home from a friend or call a taxi to come pick u up? really ppl how hard is it? god ppl are soooo stupid sometimes

Posted at 3:14PM on Jul 30th 2007 by how sad

45. this was so deep, i have never experienced something like it before and i must say it is really scary. I had been in a couple of car accidents but it was not related to a drunk driver, it was more of a bad driver and i dont even know which one is worst. I believe the same way i call a car service to go and come back from clubbing here in NYC, I assume people in the spotlight should be able to afford doing the same, specially when they are aware of a drinking problem. I personally consider myself the girl with the shiny heart on myspace cause i try to give my buddies the best advice i can provide. I hope this video changes some peoples minds before is too late....Honey B
