Lane Garrison Relives Deadly Drunk Driving Crash

TMZ has obtained a chilling video in which former "Prison Break" star Lane Garrison relives the night someone died while he drove drunk behind the wheel of a car.

Fighting back tears and with his voice trembling, Garrison has gone back in front of the cameras -- to record a powerful and graphic public service announcement was directed by Andrew Gallery for The Troy and Alana Pack Foundation.

Hoping to prevent people from making the same deadly mistake he did in the December 2006 crash night, which resulted in the death of 17-year-old Vahagn Setian, Garrison warns drivers, "Just don't drink and drive, it's not worth it, it's just not worth it." Eerily realistic recreated footage of a drunk driving accident plays between clips of Lane's emotional plea. Amid the devastating wreckage, a frantic woman can be heard screaming "My boyfriend is dead!"

Garrison pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter, felony DUI with bodily injury and one misdemeanor count of providing alcohol to a minor. Sentencing is scheduled for August 2.

61. Forgive and forget...just don't drive "under the influence"...

62. John (#50) thanks for citing the CA penal code, but jail is not going to make the family feel better. Nothing will bring back their loved one. Sure, he'll do some time under the law, but so what? The most important thing for both families is that this death is not in vain. I'm glad Garrison is remorseful and wants to send an message to young people. Maybe this tragedy will prevent other tragedies from happening.

64. As I am reading everyone's comments, there is an advertisement on the SAME page for alcohol? What are people thinking? This is tragic for all parties involved. I agree that what he did was wrong in so many ways. But to the person resposible for this page, I think you could have done a little better in the layout.

65. It's good to see someone accepting responsibility. I hope it's real, and not merely trying to get a lighter sentence.

It's good to remind people not to drink and drive.

And it's good to remind people that as the passenger (of a responsible age) you have a duty to yourself to make sure you are with a safe driver....and a duty to others to take away the keys if you think they're not.

Yes, the ultimate onus is on the driver themselves. We can't remove that blood from Lane Garrison's hands. But we need to look out for ourselves and each other a little more.

66. Even if he is just acting in an attempt to minimize his punishment, atleast he is publicizing the incident and sending out a message about the conquences of drunk driving. In other words, whether he is sincere or not, maybe he will teach someone else a lesson.

67. "Yeah, I am sorry that I got underaged kids drunk, then I drove drunk and killed one of them. Since I am wealthy, can I get probation?"

I will be pissed if he gets less time than Paris, who I believe was way overcharged compared to everyone else!

69. Two Words: WHAT A BUNCH of BS! First, He's an actor he is trained to "Tear" on command! Second, I watched the video in slow-mo the people who were partying had the green light (look for it when the cam-corder if flipping as they roll in the car), the other guy ran the red light!

71. Every one is quite the critic...I'm sure all of you with smug remarks have never driven under the influence or put yourselves or anyone else in that matter in harms way...people under the inluence and driving are weapons. Maybe we can learn by other peoples real life experiences and trajedies instead or making the same mistakes.

72. That was one of the lamest psa I've ever seen, a fluff piece with a stupid puppy dog pout into the camera. "It happened to me" ???? How about "I did it"? Drunk driving doesn't happen to the drunk, it happens to the victims.

How about "I'm Lane Garrison and on december ?? 2006, I killed a 17 year old boy because I was driving drunk, and now after destroying his life and and his family's lives, I am going to jail"

Sugar coated crap

73. # 6 Before you go and call him a bastard you cant sit there and say you havent got behind the wheel after having a drink or two or ever gotten in a vehicle with a drunk driver...There is NOT one perfect person in this world...everyone has made mistakes...I'm even admitting I have had 2 drinks and drove when I was 17 did it once...and I have gotten into cars with my friends when they have been drinking...and I happen to be one of the luckys ones to walk away from being in a car accident with a drunk driver...So before you open your mouth think about it...No one is perfect..he knows what he did. Now he will have to suffer for the rest of his life knowing he killed someone...

Dude! They didn't say this WAS the accident, only a re-creation! Instead of dissecting out every little thing to find fault, Did you get the message? Don't drink & Drive!!!That's what important about the vid.!

75. I know Lane personally and although sickened by what has happened; I am proud of him for pleading guilty and not pretending like he is above the law. None of us are perfect-he is a good kid and we just pray he will come out of his sentence a truly changed man.
