Paris Hilton -- Best Singer in Hollywood?!

7/30/2007 2:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

It's tough for an ex-con to find work, but Paris Hilton's got herself a job! She's singing in a full-fledged movie musical! Is the world taking crazy pills?
Paris Hilton
Ms. Hilton has been cast in "Repo! The Genetic Opera," a futuristic thriller about the last humans on earth -- who need organ transplants to survive. The film's clearly tone deaf producer, tells Variety, "We saw many actresses for the role, and Paris sang it better than all of them." Huh? The director, Darren Lynn Bousman, jumped onto the Hilton-can-sing bandwagon as well, saying, "I have auditioned at least 30 actresses for this role -- Paris came in and owned it." Does that mean she paid?

Hilton's also back in the recording studio lately, so expect a whole lotta Paris' warbling in the near future. Joy.

PARTY princess Paris Hilton is $60 million out of pocket after her billionaire grandfather - appalled by her jail term for drink-driving offences - axed her inheritance.

Family patriarch Barron Hilton was already embarrassed by his granddaughter's wild behaviour - notably when her home sex video was leaked on the internet.

But the 79-year-old considered her 23-day sentence last month the final straw.

"He was, and is, extremely embarrassed by how the Hilton name has been sullied by Paris," said Jerry Oppenheimer, who wrote a biography of the clan called House Of Hilton. "He now doesn't want to leave unearned wealth to his family."

Hilton senior, the only member of the family left with a sizeable stake in the huge hotel chain, has let it be known that he intends to donate to charity the $2.4 billion he will gain from this month's sale of the company to private equity firm Blackstone.

The money will go to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, the charity set up in the name of the founder of the family business.

Not that Paris will care too much, though. US sources predict she will quadruple the $8.3 million business bible Forbes estimates she earned last year.

Fed Up

OoOoooooo good gawd, whats next with her,if I don't watch her on any shows then why the hell would I want to hear her sing....It"s time for her to stay out of the public eye and get behind the a camera or something(don't understand what made her so popular anyways other then coming from a background of lots of money). As far as the director,he really needs not to suck up to people that have money to begin with and maybe one day have backing on his next project

geez enough of her and the rest of the trash in Hollyweird. She's just a lil rich bitch that has nothing other than her last name to put her on the map. They should of kept her in jail along with the other ones.

I saw Repo! The Genetic Opera during its stage run and honestly, it is quite good. The premise seems a little odd, but once you see it in person it definitely makes sense. And the music is fantastic. Glad to hear someone is bringing Repo film! As for Paris, I have an idea which role she might have been cast for and she is actually PERFECT for the part. Sounds odd, I know... but if you know the musical, you probably understand exactly what I mean...

What thirty actresses couldn't be used for this part? Are that many bad singers out there seriously trying for the role or did only Paris get the invite, and we add acting.. ?>?? It's mindboggling that Paris came in and owned part of.. surely he meant his own private pleasure interview was what she excelled in? Even Courtney Love could do it better singing her shopping list at Whole foods aloud while stoned! Not crazy Britney! ...but Courtney is a pro at acting as well, and would fit in this kind of freaky-scuzzy musical and do a great job.. ohl yes!
