Cops: "Little" Star Hit Bar, Drove Car

The pint-sized pop on the TLC reality show "Little People, Big World" has been hiding a pretty big secret -- he was busted for DUI last month.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, 45-year-old Matthew Roloff was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants, around midnight on June 19 after cops claim that Roloff's van had been swerving on the road.

Roloff, who then failed a field sobriety test, was taken to Washington County Jail, where he was cited and released.

31. This is a little guy - one glass of wine with his dinner could have been enough for him to be over the legal limit. I think he is a good guy with good morals - I would bet money he wasn't slobbering drunk!

33. Such a nice guy, always trying to do the best he can for his family. They lead a good life with good morals and standards, and not preachy. Which sets them apart from some on the tv. They are easy to relate to, during fun travels, hard work, rough spots, a messy house, and then a group effort to square it all together. Despite being little people, their struggles and dreams are so universal.

If it is a DUI, hope Matt rises above it, takes responsibility. Also hopes he and his wife, along with TLC, use this as a teaching opportunity for their kids. This will then give us all a good reality lesson on family values at work. If they handle it right, it could be a great opportunity to slow down and face it with their usual honesty and reflection.

Really do not want it to turn into a " I am not responsible saga" but I think Matt is better than that and will buck up.

35. Agree: The Pollf's are human, hope they handle it openly as that is their show's trademark. Also their book is on family values and ups and downs in life.

This DUI saga would tie into their usual way of addressing adversity, choices, and teaching to their kids. It is a neat family, with ups and downs along the way. They always take responsibility though which is a good twist in YV land and real life lately.

37. I love this family and I am sure Matt will take full responsibilities for his actions. He knows he is in the public eye and needs to lead by example. I do hope they air this on Little People Big World and show the consequences of his actions. They are a great family, but they are human and make mistakes like everyone else.

40. poor guy. i haven't really watched the show but he seems like a good person who made a mistake. i'm not going to judge him yet. also, he can't walk a straight line to begin with so that standard test should not apply in this case

41. This guy's a dlckhead. He does nothing but complain about how the world owes short people and how it's not custom made for people under 5 feet. No one else in the family bitches. He's a pompous ass. I cannot stand him.

42. First off I have to say keep your negative comments to yourselves. I don't believe that Matt was really that drunk. I believe that the Portland cops wanted to make an example out of this whole mess. Matt if you are reading this, You are a wonderful Father and husband and Put this whole thing behind you I support your show and your family 100%. By the way the tall son's name is Jeremy and I believe he will grow up and be like his dad we hope. You rock MATT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

44. Matt is an awesome guy. I am sure he will use this as an opportunity to educate his children and the public about DUI on his show. He is probably sick about it. He and his wife Amy are amazing people and excellent parents. Their show rocks!

45. In response to #8.."Peeps"..
you obviously dont have any children..your comments make you sound so ignorant. He was drinking...and he made the choice to get in his van and drive. What if your mother or someone you loved was on the road the same time as he was?? What if, God forbid, he hit that person you loved and they were killed..Do not call the officer that did his job for pulling over a drunk driver a "cowardly cop"..Im sure youre professional assesment of his mug shot in which you say he doesnt look "trashed"..should have been enough for that officer.. God. Cowardly is hiding behind a silly name like "peeps" while you spill out stupidity.
