Cops: "Little" Star Hit Bar, Drove Car

The pint-sized pop on the TLC reality show "Little People, Big World" has been hiding a pretty big secret -- he was busted for DUI last month.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, 45-year-old Matthew Roloff was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants, around midnight on June 19 after cops claim that Roloff's van had been swerving on the road.

Roloff, who then failed a field sobriety test, was taken to Washington County Jail, where he was cited and released.

49. I am crushed to find someone like Matt accused of driving while impaired. I watch the show often and thought they had a strong sense of family and responsibilities. Hoping it isn't true, but I will be disappointed if it is true. He could have at least called a cab...

50. The Rollf family will do the right thing. Since so much air time was given to their teenagers struggle to get their lisences, and then to increase responsibility at school, Amy and Matt will need to be open and honest, their normal approach to life.

DUI's put families and others on the road at risk, imagine if a drunk driver had run into the Rollf family van. TLC and the parents will surely use this as a teaching opportunity. Taking responsibility and underscoring what happens when you or your kids makes bad choices.

The show centers around healthy values, the struggles of the everyman, and adversity. So I imagine it will be addressed and not ignored. That would defeat the integrity of the show. They are always muddling thru, learning, and turning things around. They will need to be up front as it is out there, the elephant in the room.

Love the show, tune into TLC.

52. Why should I? This dude thinks the world owes him b/c of his disablility. There are several other people in the limelight that are 3 foot or 4 foot something that aren't bitching b/c state regulations won't allow his grill to be playskool sized. Verne Troyer, Wee-Man, Tony Cox. Do you ever hear them bitch? No because they deal with what they were dealt in the best possible way they can. This dude is nothing but a prick who wants to be noticed and now a drunk driver. He is not worthy of news.

53. I love this guy and his family. They're awesome. I hope the cameras were there for that. I am sure there's a lot that we dont know. Like maybe the car was swerving because one of his canes got stuck under the steering wheel or something. If he was drunk, Zack is going to be so pissed off!!! and Amy is probably going to pack his little bag and put him out the little back door. This really sucks. This is the one family on TV I would have loved to be part of. They seem so cool. I hope this is one little misunderstanding...( He looks so happy in this mugshot, this is so sad but at the same time so funny)

55. Get off on cheap thrills..........the guy is not a drunk ...he is a dwarf with disabilities.

How could he take a field test for DUI? Have they developed one for a guy with deformed hips, legs & feet using hand controls to drive?

Come on...let's hit on Rosie! Leave Matt alone!

56. i enjoy watching the show, Matt is in a lot of physical pain with his disability,I would imagine he takes more than one pain medication---not a good thing to mix with alchohol.

57. Matt is an awsome little person. I am a hudge fan of his show on TLC. a lot of people out there has had something happen like this, but since we are not famous, you never hear about it. Give him a break!! You all would probably do the same thing if you had to try to get those kids to clean their room. I still love you Matt!!!

60. Wow, the mean-spiritedness of some of these responses amaze me...particularly the one in which the person made some very unkind remarks about one of the teenage boys. I have four boys...one a teen...and I am constantly REASSURED about the state of humanity when I watch this show. For the young man you felt the need to attack, I commend him for always looking out for his smaller twin, going out of his way to include him in everything & doing what it takes to make sure he can participate in the teen activities so important at that age. Rather than having the ability to only think of himself (which is normal at this age), he is in a unique position of not having that luxury. Rather, he is learning accomodation & consideration. These parents are raising kind and empathetic children in a sometimes nasty world. ANYONE who has raised a teen (or even has some knowledge of child development) KNOWS that hormones run amok & kids have days where they are mouthier, lazier, etc. than we'd like. That is NOT who they are...that is a phase they are dealing with. This family has opened themselves up to hopefully teach anyone watching that struggle is universal, it is human, we are ALL in this together. There is not one among us who has not made a mistake (or many) throughout this business of living. Most of us don't have it thrown before the public & yes, that was their choice. But people, come on...take the lessons of humanity, humility & simple kindness. Sounds like Matt made a bad choice here & I'm sure he'll deal with it the way he does most everything in his life, with dignity & grace. Let's let the kids be kids without adults lobbing unwarranted & unkind words their way.
