62. Play and pay. It's as simple as that. Baby is as cute as they come, too; Murphy can afford to help the little angel financially as is his legal responsibility. Mel has her own income; this is from Daddy. Hope he rethinks and becomes a proper part of her life. It will give her self-esteem and centredness to know that her real Dad thought she was worth bothering with.
Come on, Eddy. Man up emotionally for this angel; she's half yours. It's like turning your back on yourself, and is so hurtful for the child as she grows if you do not. She did nothing to deserve the nose-in-the-air ignore treatment but be born.

64. DATgradeA- WRONG. A man CAN sign over his parental rights, true. BUT that does NOT absolve him from financially supporting that child until legal age. Absolutely not. All signing rights away does is simply take away that fathers right to make any decision in the raising of that child, or have any say in where or how that child lives. If what you say were the case, it would be a rare instance where a child would get support. And I am speaking from experience as a mom whos ex tried to get out of support. It doesnt work that way.

65. It doesn't feel good when a man drops you. Sure doen't seem like a good idea when your business is all over the media letting people know that you are a scorned woman. OUCH!

And not only that, but that the father of the baby does not not appear to be expressing any interest in the child, OUCH, OUCH.

Of course you could look at it this way: Some single mothers give their babies up for adoption for whatever reason. Some fathers UNOFFICIALLY give their babies up for adoption more often than the mothers do by not being in the child's life.

True, there will be child support payments for the next 18 years which will start soon enough.

I guess Eddie is thinking: What is the rush, the baby is only a few months old and to take care of an infant is not very expensive : Formula, pampers (or whatever brand), baby clothes. Mel B already has a roof over her head.

As relationships go, there is a huge amount (in his eyes) that went on either on her part or between them that caused this to be a deal breaker on Eddie's part as far as the relationship between he and Mel.

The baby? Of course, I would be heart broken if it was me.

Eddie's new relationship? Well, this is also tough. If I was the new woman, I wouldn't want a pregnant woman or her baby in my life with my new relationship. I would think she still wanted the man and was using the baby as a manipulation tool that would last for 18 years. And this situation is hostile. Even if Eddie had decided he was going to participate with the child from the beginning. It is hostile, because Mel wanted him and he has moved on to another woman. I sure wouldn't want this kind of energy in my relationship with a new man. What is the point in having a scorned woman causing you trouble? Too much venom. Too much bitter ego stuff yet to be resolved.

Uuumm. So what do you do?

It looks like, and I say it looks like Eddie is making sure at this point of the game, that he doesn't want to give Mel an inch as far as her thinking she can call him with baby matters. Because if he give her an inch, he may think she will take a mile and and go overboard with calling him day and night with concerns about the baby and intefere with the relationship he has now. So how can he keep up two households? The one with the new fiance and the one with the ex girlfriend. Until she gets over this bitterness, the drama will never end.

I think it would be only human nature if Mel, in her situation, if she was given an inch by Eddie, that she would take a mile. You can't blame her for trying to get the relationship going again. She has stated that she will alway love Eddie. But Eddie doesn't seem to want that.

The baby will be taken care of. Not to worry.

66. The adult issues are secondary, and are not relevant anymore anyway. The baby's physical and emotional needs are what should be considered by both biological parents. Children should not be made victims of adult situations. Lots of (mature and thoughtful) people see their kids but live with other spouses. They have both moved on.

Since this baby was obviously conceived simply for the purposes of getting into Eddie Murphy's pocket as a scam...Murphy should sue for "full custody" of the baby, claiming fraud as the thrust of his law suit. Further, Eddie should state that his relationship with Mel B. was a based on a predatory fraud scheme perpetrated by her in order so that she could blackmail him--as a part of said scheme, she filed this law suit specifically to gain money from Murphy...and has used the media to slander Murphy's reputation as a pressure tactic to force him to settle with a large monetary payout...al while using the scheme to gather much needed publicity to revive her career.

Since Mel B. is a Spice Girl, i know for a fact that each of these ladies was worth at least 20 million dollars at the height of their careers, hence, Mel B. should not need Murphy's money...however...she has obviously depleted her funds, trying to live the high life....and is now attempting to entrap famous, rich men and or powerful men into paying her bills. She could be considered a grifter at best...and at the least, this should be called good old fashioned prostitution with the added insult of using a baby as a pawn!!!

This isn't about child support...it's about adult support!!!

74. I don't believe this baby was planned. Scary Spice is scary, especially not thinking about the fact that she can't make Eddie acknowledge his baby. Therefore, what was SHE thinking about when she decided to have the baby even though she didn't have him. She's stupid for bringing a child in the world here under those conditions and he's stupid for not protecting himself when he's already got half a football team to take care of.
