78. Sherlock, that bitter patriarchal view that her pregnancy was a cash scheme is laughable, a further insult to Mel and an innocent baby after their mutual intimacy, and won't wash. Mel has her own cash. Do you have ANY idea how much money the individual members of the Spice Girls made with their international fame? A financial report/wealthy list from the UK estimated her net worth at over 33 million. This is NOT about the cash. It's about the principles of responsibility and manning up to your own. 82. I don't understand some of these comments. Of course he will financially support the baby. The DNA takes care of that. He will have to pay a great deal, because they have formulas that have to do with how much the father earns. That he will finacially support is a given. He is not obligated by law to ever see that kid. The kid is a bastard. Bastard is a word, look it up. He didn't want to have a kid with her, he certainly didn't want to marry her or he would have. She is a silly, pathetic "single mother" who tried to trap a man and it rarely works. I understand he he should have used a condom...but in the final analysis it is the woman's body the baby grows in or gets aborted from. The woman has the choice. She's one of the hoardes of dimb bulbs who get pregnant without being married.

It sounds like many of the posters on this site may be scorned women with illegitamate children themselves and they identify strongly with Mel B. They seem to be vicariously getting revenge at their ex-mates through getting gratification in what Mel seems to be
doing towards Eddie. That is why the emotions are running so high with the posts and that the people can identify with it so acutely. You can actually feel it. Its like a public hanging. In this case Eddie is taking the place of their former paramours. They have not had a chance to resolve their anger toward them, so this situation fits the bill for them.

Otherwise, why would they have such a "Witchhunt" attitude towards Eddie when he has done nothing to them? Their responses are crazy because they keep talking about "that innocent baby" and "that poor baby". Like you said with the DNA she will get paid so why is that even a point? Besides its none of our business anyway.

Why are the people on this site so concerned about 2 rich peoples baby? I doubt they (the
posters) are rich. There are many "poor babies" and "innocent babies" in any given city in America, the U.K. and the world that they could give their attention to.

And by the way, I am under the impression that some "condoms" may not be 100% effective, even if it was his choice. Nice try though.

Next time, resovle your own anger and you won't be so spot on with the revenge against someone who has done nothing to you.

And ladies, try not to get pregnant until you have something going in the situation, like his ex wife did. She probably gets alimony AND child support. Why? Because SHE is recognized by man AND the LAW, not just the baby. Get some protection and self respect going here.

85. @ bored and bigox: your "educated" guess as it pertains to the women who have written comments under this story could not be more wrong. I dont have any illegitimate children, as a matter of fact, i dont have any children. I actually come from an upper- middle class background and both of my parents were present in my life. So your theory about the mad baby mama's club is out the door. What does the fact that Mel B is rich have to do with her daughter growing up without a father? Money does not buy happiness and it most certainly does not fill a void left from growing up without a father. Everybody deserves that right. I cant believe people are really defending eddie. He is dead wrong. If eddie murphy wants to be left alone, then HE SHOULD NOT have went to the media saying this was not his child. He asked for this by doing that. So if he is the poster child for dead beat dads and their angry baby mama's then that is entirely his fault. AND as i said before if he didn't want this child and it wasn't planned like he says, he should have wore a condom..

86. Women who choose to have sex without proper birth control should carry sole responsibility for their "mistake". I assume that these are intelligent women who are educated about birth control. Why they would allow themselves to get pregnant by a man who can't seem to keep it in his pants is beyond me.

They create babies with gals TOGETHER, and disregard the consequences (real, live little people) and trot off on their irresponsible, moronic way. Back in the day, a real man acknowledge that he had created a family like an adult, and did right by them. That means phsically, emotionally, and financially. Your view belongs with the many males living a stunted, permanent extended adolescence who don't give a damn who their behaviour affects. The moms are adults; they can mostly manage, but ought not be burdened with more than half the child care costs. Birth control can fail. It's the little children who suffer, suffer, and suffer. Their entire lives.
Ladies need to stop giving out altogether to look and wait for a MAN with a stable character and integrity: the type of man who hangs in and works at fixing things, setting an example and displaying leadership for his famile, and believes in celebrating 25 and 50 year annniversaries. The world is full of these instant relationship serial impregnator and run types who think having millions is a ticket to grabbing new poontang because they are bored, and because some men have the immature attention span of a breeding fruit fly.
Personally, I feel that Mel is lucky in the long run that this fish jumped back in. After all, Murphy has a past relationship/baby popping record that looks like a long rap sheet.
Woman need to think more of themselves, and give these lightweights a pass.

I have a friend who has a kid with an ex. She tried making him visit with the baby,didn't work. Courts can't make dad be there.All they can do is collect cash for them.
and besides,this chick is not like most of us,she has money,she does not need to do this.Personally, i would not want to "force" my kid on anyone,i would want the guy to want a relationship with baby. not be forced or else.
