Dog Free: "We're Not Saying We Told You So ..."

The DogDuane "Dog" Chapman found out conclusively today that he won't be locked up in a Mexican jail -- and he could barely contain his relief. Que bueno!

In a statement to AETV.com, the famed Bounty Hunter told fans, "I'm just like in shock right now," after a Mexican court granted him his freedom this morning. Still, he refused to take the opportunity to talk trash; instead, the clearly emotionally drained Dog -- one of TV's toughest tough guys -- just lost it.

Meanwhile, his Huntress, Beth Chapman, gave us the news update, namely that a court in Puerto Vallarta considered the motion of Dog's lawyers -- which said that the statute of limitations had run out -- and decided to let Dog and his two associates go free. "Many many mahalos," says Beth to Dog's supporters, "and aloha."

46. I am so very happy to hear this. I watch the show, and although I am vey much a strong believer in letting the cops do their jobs, Dog and his crew do the RIGHT thing. I don't want any junkies, rapists or wife beaters hanging around my neighborhood either. To top it all off, he treats the people he catches with respect. I find no fault here.

Colorado, and i am familiar with the court instances and charges agains him and Beth, and you can only keep your heads in the sand for so long, America...So sad to see so many gullible ppl belive all of their crap. 50. Yes, of course IMAO!! Go check your research! The color t.v WAS invented by a mexican and sold the invention to the AMERICANS!!! There is a lot you don't know about Mexico. All you know is based on what you hear. Why is that all celebrities go to Mexico and vacation?

Sadie, very sorry to hear that. As Mexican, yes I will stick up for the country where my parents came from, when people don't know what it is like, aside from what they watch on t.v or hear. Like I said, don't assume all Mexicans are the same. It would be very silly to say white people are rednecks, white trash or crackers. All I was saying, The laws in Mexico forbid bounty hunting. That is why he was on trial. Charges were dropped !

52. I agree Mexico should fall off the face of the planet but I would like to see China leading in that race off the planet. Our Government ignores the toxic food and items that come from this country. The FDA is WAY under funded and instead of our goverment giving them what they need to keep us safe they cut funding. Bad pet food, bad seafood, bad toys, all from China and expect more because your government doesn't care. Our government ignores our out of dated bridges. We can put billions a day into a war in Iraq that directly places money in Bushes pocket but our government can't put millions into bridge repair. Our government is self serving and doesn't care about the people.

55. IM so happy for Dog! I would like to comment on the recent posts made by individuals claiming to know Dog personally or, to know of him. I dont understand what his past has to do with the good work that he does today? IM sure all the rape and sexual assault victims who he got closure for agree! He may have made many mistakes during his youth and young adult life but he has turned his life around and become a contributing member of society. One I might add who successfully removed a very dangerous man from the streets when the cops couldnt. I dont claim to know Dog but if I did have the opportunity to meet him, I would call him simply .........Hero.

57. GO Dog. We need to remember that some people who are convicted for felonies are good people and they learn there lesson while in prison and turn there life around. Don't judge people by there past judge them by there present. And to the person who put up all the nonsense about dog and his convictions grow up and quit throwing stones this is a great guy who helps clean up the streets what do you do???? I am glad that the Mexican goverment saw reason dog took a BAD man off the streets and everyone is safer because of this ....

58. No matter what some have posted here in the negative toward "Dog"....he does a dangerous job - serves the people - gets "fools and criminals" off the streets. Way to go Dog -- you catch 'em and I'll keep 'em locked up.
Maybe some of the negative posters would like to do both jobs.

60. Regardless of what 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' is; he ensured a serial rapist and criminal was brought to trial. As they say "even a broken clock is right twice a day," if Dog is as dirty as people say he is...it will come out. With that said...no 'innocent' person should be incarcerated in any prison much less one in a third world country.

And to the earlier writer...yes I believe that anyone immigrating to this country should be required to fill out all the necessary paperwork that will follow them for the duration of their stay, and or, until they choose to become a citizen or leave. No one should get a free ride. No one!

Better wake up folks, either you are for this country with all of its flaws and strengths or you are against it. It's just that simple, so either work to change it and make it better, or continue to suffer verbal and physical attacks from pundits and countries who do not have are best interests at heart and are only interested in rewriting our history, and our laws. But from their perspective.
