37. After the 90 day observation, the Judge will still most likely send him to prison. With an alcohol reading more than twice the legal limit, there is almost nil chance he'll avoid prison.

He'll spend afew days in LA County Jail, and then go off to Chino for the observation. When he gets an actual sentence!, he'll go to one of the reception centres near Bakersfield, and get classified for Corcoran SATF. Substance Abuse Treatment Centre, a low level security prison, not to be confused with Corcoran next door with Manson.

Fortunately for him, by accepting the plea, as a non-violent, first time offender, the most time he can spend in custody, worst case scenerio is 37 months. As the DA is only asking for 24 - 48 months, once he is back in court, the worst case if the DA gets their way, he'll have 9 months to 21 months to serve. It's all in the Judges hands.

38. Killing a person while you are driving drunk is NOT an accident! It is a forseable consequence of driving drunk. An accident is something unavoidable that happens when you are not breaking the law.

Almost all people get a minimum of EIGHT YEARS in prison in California when they are convicted on vehicular manslaughter. With the money Lane has from his TV show he could have easily called a taxi or hired a limo when he knew he would be drinking. I can't believe he thinks he should not go to prison when this family has lost their son! How does he figure his life is more valuable than his victims?

In Sacramento earlier this year, a young POLICE OFFICER got eight years in prison for killing someone while driving drunk, so this actor should get at least that much time behind bars.

And don't forget, an actor killed Lincoln!

40. So much crap is going in the world. I never watched the show he is on, but my best freinds ex brother in law was involved in a car accident that killed someone., He was at fault and the family stated that they wanted the toughest sentence that did not involve him going to jail, because they knew he would never forget. He sends a check to them every week for a certain amount. because sending that check is his life sentence. So I ask all of you what would you do if your child did what he did. No he was not a child and a child was lost but do you think he will ever forget. i know my friends ex brother in law has not. And yes my friends ex brother in law was drunk, You live life and you teach your children right from wrong and if you live in califorina I guess they meet an actor. And these kids got in the car.

45. Everyone talks about Lane being the "dumb kid" "idiot," etc.....He F'd up like most people have. It's a #'s game. You can't judge unless you've been convicted. Most people in the US have had a/1/One concktail and driven. It's a #'s game to most as your time runs out. Did he mean to do this? no way!
This is a young man that has overcome a ton of negativity in his life to become something. He feels for the family and their loss.
In this case we need to forgive, but it's OK to never forget.
We shouldn't. Losing a son before a parent dies is a nightmare. I'm sure Lane will live with this in his soul forever.
Please make the comment positive to both parties, as we ALL have forgotten how to love one another.
Again, he made a mistake and is sorry for his actions. Nothing can bring a life back.
Don't make his mistake.
