As we wait for Lane to get rolling on the stand, the prior witness testified Garrison's childhood was tragic.
The witness said the Garrison family was poor. "When there was no food in his fridge, my mom would let me take food from my pantry to him."
The witness said Lane's mom died of a rare disease and his dad was abusive. Four years ago, Garrison's father died of cancer.
As Lane listened, he sobbed.
16. He is owning what he did....he pleaded GUILTY! Publicly admited that HE made a mistake....he is owning it. Besides, don't tell me YOU HAVE NEVER DRIVEN DRUNK. It's so easy to point fingers....look at urself and tell me u wouldnt want some mercy if u were in his shoes.

If the guy was drunk and killed somebody, he should get jail time. Period.

18. I don't feel sorry for him. Who cares if his CHILDHOOD was tragic. He isn't a child anymore. He needs to grow up. so what if he was poor growing up. Thousands of children grow up in poor families, you don't see all of them killing people while driving drunk and then telling the judge"well 15 yrs ago I was poor and I am still getting over it by wasting my money on booze and then drving drunk" That does not give him an excuse to drive drunk and kill someone.

So this is his escuse for drunk driving and killing someone this is completly outrageous he should get at least 5 years prison with probation he killed somebody, so convient that his PSA came out this week to make an impression on the judge I hope the parents of the dead teenager ask for the maximum , LA is apparnetly its own country and has its own set of rules the place makes me more disgusted every day. Being a "celebrity" sure has its perk. Now you get a slap on th wrist for murder well i guess OJ got away with it, DISGUSTING

20. Who gives a dam how and when his parents died!! This dead young man cannot ever have a family and his parents are missing him.
Lane has been partying with friends since he was out, and will do it again when they allow him to be back out on the streets. Damm ya'll!!

22. WELL THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING. COME ON GIVE ME A BREAK, JUST CAUSE HE WAS POOR AT ONE TIME MEANS HE CAN DRINK, DRIVE & HAVE SOMEONE DIE BECAUSE OF HIM. COMING FROM A POOR FAMILY OR HAVING A PARENT DIE OF CANCER SHOULD HAVE NO REFLECTION AT ALL ON THIS CASE.
HE'S GUILTY & SHOULD SERVE THE TIME THAT WOULD BE GIVEN TO ANYONE COMMITTING THE SAME CRIME.
