Nicole to Diane: I Was Frickin' High!

Nicole Richie left little doubt that she was under the influence when she got popped for her wrong way driving, and said she was "incredibly lucky" not to have killed anyone.

Richie, surprisingly composed and sitting snugly next to boyfriend and baby daddy Joel Madden, talked to Diane Sawyer on "Good Morning America" this morning, and expressed noticeably more regret and self-consciousness about her situation than her friend Paris Hilton did with Larry King. Now that she'll be having a kid, says Nic, "I owe the baby my life."

As for her upcoming four-day stint in the slammer, Richie told Sawyer that she's not afraid of jail -- just of the unknown -- and Joel acknowledges that she's paying her debt. He also told Sawyer that he nearly dumped Nicole in the midst of her troubles, but stuck with her -- and now they're having a kid together.

And what of that kid? Richie and Joel don't know whether they're going to have a boy or a girl -- and they're not going to know until it pops out.

46. #45 Sheila E is her aunt not her mother. Her father is Sheila E's brother. Sheila E is a drummer, but she was made famous because she was a Prince protege. Nicole was passed around for the first few years of her life until her biological father allowed the Richie's to adopt her. Lionel and his first wife do not have any biological children.

I think the reason she is so more down to earth is because of all the trauma she has been through. Lionel's first wife found out where he and his mistress was and went to the girl's apartment on Doheny, and beat them both down. Nicole was still pretty young when this happened.

47. At least Nicole seems to have accepted some responsibility -- unlike Paris. The unfortunate person here is the baby because the marriage won't last 6 months.

48. I don't think anyone deserves to say anything negative about Nicole- No one actually knows her, and just because there is negative meida doesn't give anyone the right to judge her... Media thrives on the BAD side of people and never the good- She is just like everyone else, and I think like anyone else you can make mistakes in life, and sometimes it takes a litle longer to learn from them, but usually when it comes to bringing a new life into the world it causes someone to change their habits! Give the girl a chance!

49. I am soo tired of hearing about this little high anorexic bitch. TMZ should spend more time on actual talented starlets like Katherine Heigl and Sara Ramirez.
