PETA to Hasselbeck -- "Cluck You!"

Whoopi's long overdue employment announcement wasn't the only news on "The View" yesterday. Elisabeth Hasselbeck revealed the thigh slapping news that she has chopped off a chicken's head -- and PETA thinks that's just foul!

After using hand motions to describe how to accurately decapitate a chicken, grossing out the audience more than she usually does, polite talk then resumed. Now Lizzy's in the soup with PETA, and they had this nugget for the right wing chicken winger:


"PETA has two words for Hasselbeck, 'Cluck you!' Next to Barbara and Joy, who expressed compassion, Elisabeth sat there chirping about the joys of killing defenseless birds. Conservatives love animals too, and she ruffled a lot of feathers today. Now that Whoopi has joined the show, maybe it's time for Hasslebeck's head to go on the chopping block."

Reps for "The View" had no comment.

302. I can't stand EH, she is so awful and frankly she looks like an old hag. She was so cute on Survivor and people really liked her--my god how people change. She looks old and terrible and her conservative ways make her even more unattractive but that said (she reminds me of hideous katie couric in training and I feel her days on the show are numbered) she was on survivor and as many of you know they are hungry and without food much of the time--they were forced to eat rats before so big deal about the chicken but why did she do it? She enjoyed it and that is bizarre. I love animals but I think Peta go too far but I can tell you I couldn't chop the head off and she did seem to enjoy it.

303. Good for Elizabeth! She's not a hypocrite like the rest of her critics. Used to be that everyone grew up killing their own food. Today, most people hire others to do it for them. But, hey, God likes people to kill chickens. That's why he made them taste so good.

306. The point is not that she actually killed a chicken in a situation where most people would do the same thing, it was her blase' attitude about it. As if she enjoyed killing the chicken and then was laughing about it as she talked about it. I was shocked and disappointed. I used to be a fan of EH but am no longer. She's too self centered and doesn't have common sense.

308. Yes chickens are killed everyday to be eaten. I understand that but she didn't have to be so graphic about it. Stupid insensitive BITCH! Hopefully she won't do what KFC does to their chickens. Stomp, scald, kick, etc... Disgusting, I would never eat from there.

311. I'm a fan Elizabeth. Now, I am back watching "The View". You proved yourself a worthy opponent when you went 'head to head' with Rosie. You have the class and she doesn't know what the word means. Don't worry about PETA they are a group of bored people with little or nothing to do.
