Robin Roberts' Surgery a Success

"Good Morning America" co-host Robin Roberts successfully underwent surgery to treat breast cancer yesterday, and the 46-year-old GMA gabber is reportedly already home from the hospital. This past Tuesday, Roberts announced on-air that she was diagnosed with the disease, and revealed that GMA film critic Joel Siegel's battle with cancer prompted her to get checked out.

Her revelation resulted in an outpouring of support -- and an increase in women seeking mammograms and breast exams.

A rep for "Good Morning America" said that while her surgery was successful, doctors don't yet know the long-term impact.

20. Robin, Best of luck to you. I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in December 2005. I've had 4 months of chemo and breast reconstruction and am getting stronger everyday. You will, too. Keep working as this will keep you going. Again, the best to you and keep your spirits and your faith in a positive way.

21. To #6: Tony: You are either terribly UNfunny or terribly insensitive; at any rate, your question is way out of line. If she is or is not a Lesbian is HER business, not YOURS. All that matters is that she is a brave woman as well as a beautiful one. Tell me, Is your mother a Lesbian? Are you a screamint queen? Is your father a child molester? Just asking.

24. Robin,
Best Wishes for a speedy recovery. Your in my thoughts and prayers. I look forward to seeing you and the rest of the crew every morning. I think you and Diane make so many of us smile in the morning with your vibrant outlook on life. You both show everyone that no matter how tough life is and what burdens one has to always have respect and faith. The problem today is too many people lack respect. I admire you for coming forward to the public. It means a lot showing others that hey I'm doing my job, and I have this heavy load on my shoulders right now, but I'm going to share that information with you. Not for myself, but to make others aware. Your vibrant smile always shines thru. Have a safe and more so a pleasant recovery. I know how just the word of cancer can be. I had 3 siblings pass away from cancer and 2 were only 6 months apart in passing. I know all about the ups and down, but I know that God is with you and you'll be fine. Keep that sunshine smile going! Take care and God Bless !

I feel home is the best place to be if you are able. there you are around your own belongings, and your love ones can be there to comfort you. I hope to see you soon on GMA, I feel my morning is not complete until I see you and Diane . You both are wonderful women. Take care of yourself, and get well soon.
