Robin Roberts' Surgery a Success

"Good Morning America" co-host Robin Roberts successfully underwent surgery to treat breast cancer yesterday, and the 46-year-old GMA gabber is reportedly already home from the hospital. This past Tuesday, Roberts announced on-air that she was diagnosed with the disease, and revealed that GMA film critic Joel Siegel's battle with cancer prompted her to get checked out.

Her revelation resulted in an outpouring of support -- and an increase in women seeking mammograms and breast exams.

A rep for "Good Morning America" said that while her surgery was successful, doctors don't yet know the long-term impact.

61. Best wishes, Robin, and thanks for being open on TV about our disease and your personal reaction. I'm a BC survivor for whom the cancer didn't show on several tests. I wish you the same good fortune I have had. Early diagnosis and being declared cancer-free after surgery and further treatment.

71. I've been staying away from the message boards lately because there is so much negativity by a handful of people who seem to derive their inane little pleasures from trash talk on so many levels. Having said that, will one of you trashy nasty posters please tell me why it is an important issue for anyone to reveal their gender preference on a website, television talk show, news show, etc.? I fail to see how this takes issues with that of the person's health issues concerning a form of cancer that affects every human being on this earth.

I know I'm not the only one on this message board that is disgusted by your trashy comments about someone's sexual preference and whether or not they should come out of the proverbial closet. It's just NOT your nasty business - that's all. Now go crawl back into your cave and wait for the light - all of you creeps. And when karma grabs you by your nasty throats - remember this message board and what you said. It just might mean your payback.

I'm done.

72. To Get Real:

you are one twisted human being, i feel sorry for your children. i don't see how her sexual preference would have anything to do with her getting cancer. so i guess that children who are born with cancer and other serious diseases did something to offend God? your an imbecile and an embarrassment to the human species
