Backstreet Boys'

New Song

is 'Inconsolable'

8/6/2007 8:22 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Just when you thought you were safe from seeing grown men in choreographed numbers and matching outfits, the Backstreet Boys have gotten back together and released a new song! Party like it's 1999!

0806_backstreet_boys_audio-1
TMZ has obtained a copy of the quartet's (now minus one Kevin Richardson) new piano driven ballad, "Inconsolable," which debuted today on NY's Z100 radio station. I want it that way! The Boys' new album drops October 30 -- just in time for Halloween. Trick or treat?!

First the Spice Girls announced their reunion, now BSB -- maybe there is hope for Britney! Then again, maybe not.

Well first of all, it's not a "reunion"...they have never broken up. Second, just for the record, they all play intruments. Third, the "boy band" or "boy group" or whatever you want to call it is simply a "vocal group" like the Temptations, etc, and they're still singing as a bunch of really old guys! Why do people think you should be under 25 to sing harmonies??? These guys are so talented, and their harmonies are amazing. They're not wearing matching outfits anymore or doing choreography-intensive performances, except for the occasional trip down memory lane for us long time fans. And though their music may not be industry-changing and revolutionary, what's wrong with a great ballad now and then? That never goes out of style. Anyone who writes them off simply because they think they're too "90's", well, it's their loss.

True BSB Fan

Love it! Not a soccer mom either. Boys (Men) that can truly sing without studio "help." I have loved them for years, and I'm still young. I guess you have to appreciate music to enjoy the Backstreet Boys. And....they put on a great concert!!! Can't wait until they tour.

AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have loved the Backstreet Boys since I was eight, and it feels great to have them still together. They have gotten me through so many times! YES! YES! YES! ......too bad about Kevin, though. I really enjoyed his slightly deeper tones. Anybody know his story?

I love this song and I absolutely adore these guys. I am so glad they're back again! I've been hearing about this album since last year so can't wait. Saw them in Oct 2005 Wembley Arena London and it was sold out. These guys have very loyal fans and we will always love them.

I don't see any problems with still liking the Backstreet Boys. I listen to them and other artists so do my friends from school...they both almost 30 and I'm almost 25 and we've been fans of BSB ever since we were teenagers! There's no age limit to liking these guys, although it did suck when Kevin left!

Fan for Life

Ok all I have to say is that I am sooo excited. I have been a fan for over 10yrs and will be for the rest of my life. I love the new songs! And for those of you who didn't know they never broke up they just took time off and it was only 2yrs ago that they released "Never Gone" after which they toured for like a year. I understand that many of you don't care but believe me there are alot of people who do.

I'm a fan since dec 95, when they started as a supporting act here in Germany.
Still love them, will probably love them and their music when I'm 70 ... ... boys II men, new edition, all these great vocal groups never played their instruments. Their voices are their gift. No need to hate. I still listen to artists like Frank Sinatra, he's known for his voice, not his great abilities on the guitar :) ... just because they have a choreography, you're makin fun of them. Even the Rolling Stones have someone who teaches them to work the stage, which is some kind of choreography... some haters should think before they talk. It's annoyin... anyways. I like the new song. Helpless when she smiles is better though :D and I'm hopin for some uptempo songs!!! love & peace
