Super Spinning Squirrel

Bird lovers hate squirrels. Even though no one has ever had their head crapped on by a squirrel, bird people continue to feed their feathered friends and find new ways to keep the furry rodents away from their precious bird feed.

The squirrel hatin' folks over at Bird Quest have created the ultimate bird feeder protection device. Twirl-a-Squirrel utilizes an electronic motor to spin off offending rodents that hop on to your feeder while trying to secure a few precious sunflower seeds to feed their starving families.

While the results are hilarious, remember: There's no such thing as squirrel flu.

17. Squirrels chew on and break bird feeders . wood , plastic etc it does not matter they dont just eat seeds they chew the feeders to get at the food . THis is why people dont like them on the feeders . I too dont mind squirrels but have lost many feeders due to them .

18. Maybe no such thing as "squirrel flu", but they do carry bubonic plague, rabies and other nasty things.

Funny comic relief and such a nice break from the usual Lohan story...wait...maybe we could come up with a Lohan sized device that holds booze and coke and leave her in a room with it! It'll work just as well as those swanky rehabs!!

19. No one should be mean to ANY animal. The squirrels are hungry too and if you can't spare a bit of birdfood than at least don't be mean to them. I love watching our squirrels; its like Meerkat Manor. Please remember to put water out for the birds, squirrels, and other creatures, they can't always get water!

20. Squirrels just stay on the ground right around the bird feeders and get plenty of castoffs since birds eat like pigs.

22. As a follow up to my previous comment I'll go out on a limb and say that anybody who thinks this is funny is missing something, soul-wise. And there are a lot of these types of soulless "people" in the world today. It's epidemic. You have half the population who are "real" and half who are not, but most don't even know this is happening so they find themselves shocked and horrified at the cruelty and lack of empathy going on around them.

All you have to do is realize that they're not fully human. It clears up a lot of mystery. They're lacking empathy and are missing something soul-wise that the rest of the genuine humans have. They literally don't understand empathy, don't feel love. They don't look at a little animal and see what a souled true human sees. They just see an object to torture and hurt for laughs. And they don't experience remorse for what they do. So the comments in this section will be a reflection of that divide. Lot of sociopathy running rampant.

23. I actually have had my head crapped on by a squirrel. But never by a bird...

24. This is so cruel. It's heartless. I feed the birds and squirrels EVERYDAY. We spend 50.00 a week on food for them. The squirrels come right up to my husband and I and will take peanuts from our fingers and sit in front of us and eat away. They also will climb up us on our patio set and sit on our legs while eating their peanuts.

I love birds and squirrels. Squirrels are friendly to humans and mean NO HARM. All they want is food to survive. They don't prey on other animals. They don't kill birds, they eat seeds and nuts.

And one last thing. It's almost ridiculous for bird feeders to not realize that IF YOU LEAVE NUTS on the ground for the squirrels THEY WON'T go for the birdfeeders. They ONLY go for them when THEY do not have food. Make sense? I thought so.

25. I'm perplexed as to why someone would despise squirrels so much that they would invent such a thing? The vast majority of squirrels live peacefully and harmlessly amongst billions of humans. I've never heard of them causing anyone harm. They just try to exist in nature, or living in our towns and cities and adapt with us. They do what they do, they eat, live, have their babies, feed their babies, and live peacefully with other animals in a shared habitat. Not to mention, they're cute as heck!

I used to feed peanuts to this one squirrel who used to live a tree right outside my window. It was very cute and sweet. I had a chance to look at it close up and marveled at what a beautiful and graceful creature it was. Then it stopped coming around for a short period. I believe it was the same one that eventually came back judging from it's curiosity and attributes. I then noticed what I thought to be dirt on it's belly, and then I realized it wasn't dirt, it had mammary glands and it was a mother! It had little baby squirrels to feed!

Since then, I've come to love squirrels even more.

26. Incidentally, human beings are perpetuators of spreading more diseases globally than any other species. In addition, we are capable of annihilating every form of life on this planet, including the destruction of the planet itself. Humans also spreaders of hate and ignorance, and have a history of destroying things they do not understand including other human beings.

What do squirrels do? They climb trees all day and collect nuts and feed their families. Evil creatures, that was their bad.

27. Squirrels may have fleas and mites, but so do cats and dogs. Infected fleas are the vector for bubonic plague, so if you're concerned about plague and you live in one of the danger zones, you should get rid of your dog or cat as that's the most likely way you'll get it.

Idiots.

Cruelty to ANY animal is intolerable. If you love animals, but you think cruelty to one animal is "ok", you're a hypocrite.

29. The photo of the squirrel on the ground showed it was confused and disoriented after falling. Not funny.
