Super Spinning Squirrel

Bird lovers hate squirrels. Even though no one has ever had their head crapped on by a squirrel, bird people continue to feed their feathered friends and find new ways to keep the furry rodents away from their precious bird feed.

The squirrel hatin' folks over at Bird Quest have created the ultimate bird feeder protection device. Twirl-a-Squirrel utilizes an electronic motor to spin off offending rodents that hop on to your feeder while trying to secure a few precious sunflower seeds to feed their starving families.

While the results are hilarious, remember: There's no such thing as squirrel flu.

31. Squirrels don't bother anyone?

Maybe you need to meet the squirrels who live here.

They have chewed up my $750 under deck water system, vast chunks of the railing on my upper deck (good thing it doesn't get much use!), dug holes in potted plants and killing them, dug holes throughout my flower bed.....

Eating bird seed is the LEAST of their sins.

If I didn't have dogs around whose health I care about, I'd be poisoning the little bastards.

32. Personally, I love both squirrels and birds. we just add extra food to our feeders. On occassion, I even throw out some nuts for the little guys.

33. Dizzy squirrel! I would pay to see one of those guys walking away once they fell off. Can you say wobbly? Nice, harmless fun for the squirrelies!!!

35. Oh come on people, this isn't bleeding heart Peta crap!
This is hilarious!
Squirrels are rats with furry tails, lets not fool ourselves...
This feeder is also old news, we bought this feeder for our grandparents years ago...the video is hilarious though!

36. What a great idea! Very effective.

To those of you over-reactor's who are shrieking about it being cruel, calm the hell down. My 3-year-old loves when I use the same twirling motion when he's on the tire swing. It makes him giggle like a maniac.

Quick! Call Child Protective Services!

37. I love it! We have at least 8 bird feeders on our property, and every single one - even the so-called 'squirrel proof' ones have been damaged by the critters.

I do have a ground feeder for the squirrels and other critters, but the squirrels prefer bird seed to the critter mix.

I saw another (real) squirrel deterrent for feeders (off of the Animal Planet channel), but you need 2 trees close together to do it. Thread a rope between 2 foot long pieces of PVC pipe, hang your feeder between the pipe and attach one end to each tree. The pipe pieces spin and the critters can't hold on to get to the feeder. It does work. Now, if only I can get rid of the chipmunks - they're cute too, but can cause lots of damage.

38. Those people who are complaining about the "mistreatment" of the squirrels should spend some time living in the country. They'd change their tune pretty darn quick.

They (along with those oh-so-cute chipmunks) are very destructive (right on AJ). I've had the cushions from a $750 patio set, wiring on my cars (thanks chippies!), and wood decking chewed up, not to mention hundreds of dollars of plants (over a few years) dug up and destroyed. At least I don't shoot them, like many of the farmers around me do. (We have live traps and release them several miles down the road.)

39. Those squirrels look like they were still getting plenty of food, though. What a useless invention. It's just another challenge to them. And they obviously win. Again.

40. Ok, I HAVE been crapped on by a squirrel.
Thankyouverymuch.

They're just fluffy rats with bad teeth

41. Oh please. It doesn't hurt their squirrelly little butts one bit. They are very sturdy and clever little stinkers. Besides, the is old news -- the "Yankee Flipper" has been around for years and it actually flings them off. Search YouTube.

42. That is hilarious. I'm a devoted animal lover, and this doesn't offend me at all. You fanatics need to lighten up! That isn't cruel, cruel is the thing spinning 100mph, it's going slow. So, they get a little dizzy, it teaches them to stop eating all the bird food out of the feeder in one sitting. My parents spend a lot of money refilling their bird feeders all the time, due to gluttonous squirrel binges. Good invention!

43. I don't think the spinner is cruel at all. I feed the birds in winter , even the crows when there is a deep freeze.I put out acorns, black walnuts and sunflowers on the ground for the squrrels. they will prevent the birds from feeding if they are stuffing their cheeks on the feeders. I haven't had any problems with them getting into my attic but they do go inside houses, chew on wires, cause fires. Compared to being shot with a .22,which alot of people do around here, I'd rather be spun!!!!

44. Man, I've had days like that - just trying to get a nut and end up on my a$$. LOL

45. LMAO! As for the person who proudly spends $50 a week to feed the squirrels... get off your high horse. Why don't you take that money and spend it on starving CHILDREN! Gawd, I despise holier-than-thou types!
