392. You thought wrong if you thought TMZ had more class. I did too once and TMZ proved me wrong. Merv Griffin would NOT have done anything like this to anyone .. never ... TMZ AND HARVEY LEVIN ARE LOW CLASS and wonder how many other posts besides 3 of mone I've tried to get on here between yesterday and today never made it here. BOYCOTT TMZ NOW !!!!!

Instead of talking bad about TMZ and saying we are never going to use this site again, we need to get on all the blogs of the major news organizations and talk about how disrespectful TMZ has been. At first it will drive a lot of viewers to TMZ to see what it's about but it could then hurt them. We live in America and we have the power to do this. People need to know how disgusting TMZ is. Maybe even their advertisers will pull their ads which will really get them. COME ON EVERYBODY. LET'S DO SOMETHING INSTEAD OF JUST THE THREATS!!!!

397. I would like to just stop for a moment and thank the other commentators for demanding quality in media journalism. I had some rants above myself and have become impressed and hopeful after reading the other comments demanding responsible reporting and even taking it further with reader action.

We do not have to accept disrespect or distortion of a person's passing in life. We are better than that.

401. this "tribute" to merv griffin is disrespectful, offensive and rude. to have vanna applauding is is poor taste and i cannot believe management at TMZ approved this. mr. griffin accomplished much in his life--far more than just "wheel of fortune." he was a smart and savvy business man who changed the face of entertainment in the world as we knew it. if the folks at TMZ are smart, they will rethink what type of tribute befits a man such as he and they will replace the above with an appropriate tribute, free of applause and pageantry, and heavy in respect, honor and reverence. merv griffin may be gone, but he shall not be forgotten.

I really thing that it was horrible that they would do something like that to spring something like that on all of america and not think about how his family would feel about them doing something like that. but maybe that's there way of saying they loved him and they where going to miss him . but some times i think that we need to think of others and how they feel exspecially his family.

405. Do any of you actually pay attention to this site??? The M.O. of TMZ is to be crass and uncaring. They make light of Merv Griffin's death and that is what makes TMZ horrible. TMZ thrives on addictions, divorces, weakness, and failures, but this joke surprises you people. What surprises me is that for some reason Merv's fame is off limits to you people, who by visiting this site provide the hits that provide advertising dollars that continue the practice of debasing your favorite stars. Maybe someone can write a guide explaing which stars in Hollywood should be immune from TMZ's crassness, I'm sure TMZ would greatly appreciate it.
