Joel Madden: I'm Gonna Marry My Baby Mama!

Joel MaddenLooks like Nicole Richie's baby won't be born out of wedlock after all!

Sources who attended the Hot 99.5 concert last night featuring Good Charlotte at the Clarendon Ballroom tell us Joel told the crowd he had just proposed to his jail-bound baby mama on Thursday. Congrats!

TMZ contacted Richie's rep to confirm the good news ... but haven't heard back yet.

46. Blah. They're only getting married because she's pregnant. I hate this old notion that women shouldn't have kids out of wedlock (Go Angelina!). It's ridiculous.

53. i just don't get why so many people equate getting married/having a baby as "turning your life around." Many, many people get married and have children- and behave quite irresponsibly (i.e., Britney?)
You can mature and turn your life around without getting married or having a baby. in fact, that should come AFTER you've matured and turned your life around...which could be done in a variety of ways: getting higher education, getting a job, doing volunteer work, etc.

The point is, she may be married and a mother, but will she be responsible and dedicated? Just because a woman is chronologically old enough to have a child doesn't mean she's emotionally and mentally ready to (again, Britney is a great example...)

56. Though I don't support the apparant lack of knowledge in safe sex methods used with celebrities and the like, I do support Joel for planning on marrying Nicole. I worry that it won't last but at least they both appear to be trying. That's more than Tom Brady, Brad Pitt, Eddie Murphy and a plethora of others celebs can say. Good luck Joel and Nicole!

57. im pretty sure theyll be at least in a huge huge tabloid-food fight and maybe worse before she even has the baby, i might be wrong though, i hope she finally settles down... im tired of hearing about her and her baby and her wannabe-rockstar fiancee and nothing else in the news... i wish a real, rolemodel, nonaddict woman, like hilary duff or something, would be in the tabloids instead, FOR DOING SOMETHING GOOD!!! hear that, US weekly? just to mix things up a little...
