Paris Settles with Diamond Heiress

16. No surprise that Hilton settleed for $$$. She needs positive media attention the way people need air to breathe. Her psychological craving to be noticed represents a sense of self-worth based solely on how she needs others to see her -- as a glamorous “star” who lives a life she thinks others want to emulate.

Unfortunately, narcissists do not willingly create halfway houses, etc., unless someone holds their feet to the fire. Hilton’s few charitable works focus on events that give her quick photo ops and media buzz. No doubt, Paris and the expensive spin-doctors she hired to re-do her self-indulgent image will continue to test the waters, and the public. She has yet to live up to her “fox-hole” promise to donate serious time and money to worthy causes. Is this new image they’re pushing at us a smokescreen? More than likely, yes. (She left the 11th Hour premier as soon as she and Adrian walked through the press line for photos and press coverage – she never stayed to see the film.)

For now, despite the constant posing in front of greedy paparazzi, Paris has zero credibility with most. She still reigns as the #1 person people love to hate, with no one to blame but herself. The subsequent curiosity, disrespect and gossip only garner more media attention that ultimately fuels her marketing needs and ego. Sadly, Hilton has become a caricature of herself.

21. This was definitely not a nuisance suit, and went all the way to the jury selection phase. Paris admittedly lied about Zeta to her publicist, etc. , re negative press on Zeta. (No surprise there.) And there is more than one deposition that supports Graf in this repsect. Settlement usually means that some money or other form of compensation was agreed upon. But we'll never know. The PR spin and buzz will be something like, "they've settled their differences amicably."

23. This was a classic case of two girls trash talking each other over some jerk. The only difference is that both of them have deep pockets, so the case wound up in court.

Good to see they both came to their senses and realized they're just making the lawyers rich.

Arguing over something that happened two years ago, with both of them at fault, is just plain stupid and I'm glad they wised up.

24. When you hire someone , you expect them to know the legalities their job entails.
The publicist (Rob Shuter) had a responsibility to check the stories he leaked to the papers, no matter what Paris may or may not have told him.

Shuter also was subsequently fired by Jessica Simpson (according to TMZ) because he overreached in promoting the "love affair" between Jessica and Mayer. It seems he was an overly aggressive promoter of stories, period.

At any rate, both Hilton and Graff were badmouthing each other at the time. High school antics, which never should have reached the court level in the first place.

They were smart to finally come to their senses and settle.

25. Joe and Lois, good to see wonky doesn't have to be held accountable for her actions. Rob Shuter said in his court deposition Herpes came up with a story worse than the one that was planted, he toned it down. Radar magazine also wrote an article about how Herpes was using Ken Baker to spin stories about her more positively and planted negative stories about girls she was jealous of for Us Weekly. One of the messages on her hacked Sidekick was reminding her to tell Ken about Jess trying to bone JT (SImpson, Timberlake). Baker's contact info was also in her Sidekick. We already know she hates Jessica Simpson because of what Tina Fey said about her wanting to make fun of her and she hates her because she's fat. It's plain as day she's using Levin the same way she used Baker and Page Six, to print/post stories kissing her ass and stories about the women she hates. That's a big reason why she's so hated, it's so transparent.

26. Tina Fey, Page Six, Radar, etc etc are hardly people or publications anyone can take seriously. You'd have to be pretty demented to take their garbage as gospel truth.

Most people do not hate Paris Hilton. Obviously, Paris Hilton has fans because she causes a sensation wherever she shows up and people do buy her products.

I myself just recently made several purchases from Kitson because I like the new Paris Hilton clothing line.

As to the 'court case' I'm glad the girls had the brains to finally get it settled.
No guy is worth that much trouble.
