In this country, those accused of crimes have the right to a defense. That's our system. If you don't like the system we have here, then you are free to leave.

The idea that people are angry at her lawyer shows they have about a 2nd-grade level of intelligence when it comes to legal matters.

41. I think that this was a great result. For one thing all of the felony cocaine charges were bunk because she didn't have the quantities that would support a felony. So the press gave a lot of you false expectations. Given that these were her first to offenses that came before a court the result is not too surprising. The key is that she did have good legal advice and it's true that most people can afford this. We also don't know exactly how good the case was. We were spared a trial in which Lindsay's lawyers might well be raising the issue how could the DA prove that Lindsay was in fact driving. It is also is notable that the actual plea was nolo contendere which means that she can still use the same strategy in civil proceedings. It's very possible that in the civil case the plaintiffs might not have the credibility of law enforcement. Anyway Blair Berk did a good job!

42. This is a DISGRACE!! The good news is that the judge is REALLY rich now!! Yay for the judge. I guess nothing serious will happen until Lindsay finally kills someone. And even then, she'll probably get reckless manslaughter. BOYCOTT ANYTHING LINDSAY DOES IN THE FUTURE AND ANY CELEBRITY THIS LAWYER REPRESENTS. Send the message.
