Mel Gibson Breaking News! A Malibu judge has just given Mel Gibson two thumbs up on the progress of his DUI case.

TMZ was in the courtroom this morning for Mel's progress hearing. Mel was a no-show -- he didn't have to be there. Gibson's stand-in was his mega lawyer, Blair Berk.

Berk filed paperwork today proving Gibson completed four and a half months of AA meetings and has paid all of his fines.

The judge announced that Mel's attendance at AA meetings is now voluntary. He also added that Mel must appear at the next hearing date, scheduled for February 15.

16. gibson does a little to counter-balance hollywood's QUITE imbalanced agendas.

it's too bad certain media factions choose to highlight gibson's particularly indefensible comments. revisionists, in time (we'll all be dead by then), will redefine much of this.

there should be peace between peoples and it's possible, but not with the perpetuation of stereotypes. gibson is as much victim as criminal. i don't personally like the man at all, but he says some things which need to be heard. let there be some freedom of speech in the controlled media.

19. Keep it together Mel...It is what it is...I too am a recovering alcoholic and 3 years sober. I am too young, too smart and to pretty to throw it all away on booze...remember who you really are and embrace it. Good wishes. S.

You are under attack,if you truly believe in Christ you know what I mean.I believe in you.Keep praying. We know that true believers and their families are constantly under attack. 23. If you care for Mel Gibson, then Pray to whatever God you have for peace in his life. If you don't care for Mel Gibson then continue to bash him in order to feel better about yourself.
I don't know him or any other movie stars, but I do know people who are hurting and all I can do is try my best to Help. The alternative is to turn my back on people and that's a trend I wouldn't want to be part of, especially when I hurt.

24. I am glad that Mell Gibson is fine. I think that he is a great Actor, Producer, man and human bieng. People do not like him and make up things about him because he is a atart. I think he is the best in what he does and very honest.

We love you Mel! Please do not drink any more, it is not good for you. Remember you are a true talent.
