She's In, She's Out!!!

Nicole RichieJust 82 minutes after Nicole Richie checked herself into Lynwood jail, she left a free woman. Hard time her ass!

According to the official website of the L.A. Sheriff's Dept., Richie checked in at 3:15 PM and was released at 4:37 PM. She was assigned to a cell for only 35 minutes! It takes longer to watch an episode of "The Simple Life" ... and it's more painful!

A Sheriff's source tells TMZ Nicole was routinely processed and released according to normal operating rules.

One of the more brilliant moves by Nicole's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, who snuck Nicole in and out while everyone was focused on Lindsay. Well played!

D.A. Steve Cooley and Sheriff Lee Baca both should be tied to a stake and roasted over a fire.

What a joke the LA judicial system is ! Why even arrest these offenders and waster taxpayers money to begin with. Such a travesty, and injustice. Almost laughable, if it wasn't so disgusting.

I have nothing personally against Nicole, but I think an 82 minute sentence is a travesty. What did it teach her? I know: you are rich, you are above the law. It would have been better to have her complete community service - - like Naomi Campbell, Boy George, Winona Ryder, all did. A little well-deserved humiliation, a little help to the public, and maybe she'll think twice before she drinks, drugs and drives.

And then we wonder why Americans have no respect for the law????

naw # 53 that would be too good for them they should be both put in a car with a drunk driver, then placed in a body bag and left there for 82 mins then jsut maybe the system will change

Sheriff is a crook and the justice system in L.A. is the most corrupt in the country.

What a laughing stock!

so.....i don't get it..
why do they (the L.A. court system) even bother with pronouncing jail sentences
on celebrities?...it's a waste of time (and, obviously, a waste of tax dollars)....

if the people of the municipality of Los Angeles dont rise up in anger and outrage
about an 82 minute jail term for a DUI conviction, and driving with a suspended license,
and going the wrong way in traffic, and ADMITTING to being high behind the wheel,...
then, they ALL deserve the kind of "law" they get...(or lack thereof...).

and if any one of those faithful citizens under L.A. Law gets mowed down
by a drunk driving celeb, well....then, that's just karma at work.

Yes! They should do community service. Much more productive than an in & out of jail. And in LA, celebs aren't the only ones that this happens too. So let's fix the broken system. For crimes like this -- let's have them do some work for the community. A little hard labor would go a long way!

What's wrong with her face in this picture?:  1635 days ago

Whether she seems like a nice person or if she is pregnant or if she is getting her life together or if she makes a million a year or is on welfare ................. where is the justice???????????????

If I were her, I would have stayed in the full 4 days, so that people didn't jeer at me and think justice was the JOKE that it is.

These celebs are going to soon get away with murder, as one of them is going to drive drunk and kill someone if they don't get them help or show them that there are consequences. 82 minutes in jail? 4 days? 21 days for Paris, etc.............. it's all pathetic and LA should be EMBARRASSED.

Democrats are evil:  1635 days ago

Listen, since Democrats rule Los Angeles City politics, arresting these people is just a waste of the taxpayers time. From now on, they should be allowed to do whatever they want. Let them drink until they pass out. Let them snort a mountain of cocaine or crack if they are so inclined. And in Nicole Richie's case, let her figure out how to get off the freeway by herself next time she wants to play chicken with the little nobody's who's lives aren't worth anything anyway. The money and energy that is wasted by the little people could be put to a much better use. The DA Steve Cooley obviously believes this, so no reason to argue. Face it, if your middle class or just poor, your not worth a second glance anyway. Democrats rule in Los Angeles and it is what it is. Suck it up and face the fact that if you are a nobody and you have no money, your lives aren't worth crap anyways. Nicole, Paris and Lindsey are the privileged and you should bow when they pass. Now go on with your pitiful lives now.

Like someone else said, Michelle Rodriguez was in jail for less than 2 hours and no one batted an eyelash. @ least Nicole showed up and didn't sream and yell and say they couldn't do this because of who she was.

Lindsay Lohan is the little brat who got off lightly. She drag raced down the freeway coked up and doesn't get charged with posession? B.S.

Lawsuit!:  1635 days ago

BRILLANT MOVE GOES TO RICHIE AND HER WISE LAWYER, since LOHAN and the LOS ANGELES COUNTY DA is playing footsie with each other and the tax payers, you used them like the SMOKE SCREEN TO JUSTICE they are.

BRAVO

Unlike THE CRACKHEAD LOHAN, you do have a second chance, use it wisely.
Good luck and GOD Bless.
