Brit's Dog Injured; SPCA Investigates

TMZ has learned that officials from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals were at Britney's house today to investigate why her dog was wearing a cast. We're country y'all!

Madeline Bernstein, President of SPCA - L.A., told TMZ tonight, "We have received various sources of complaints throughout the day. Some said that Britney's Yorkie dog was injured and had a cast on, and some said the dog had a broken leg and was not treated.

After the calls started pouring in, we did go to Britney's house today [on Mulholland Drive] but were just able to leave a note with the housekeeper. The matter is not if the dog had an accident, but if the dog is getting proper care."

Madeline also told us they haven't heard back from Miss Spears. "Britney is out of town," Bernstein tells us, "but we hope to have an answer soon and get the matter resolved pretty quickly."

61. Havey Levin was achoring LARRY KING SHOW along with several lawyers and a judge. What did they say. the courts will probably NOT listen to talboids reporters and what they report. It's not considered the truth. So where ever these talboids n TV media whores report probably wont have nooooooo bearing on brittney case. Like I said awhile ago Brittney has nannies to care for her children, LIKE most CELEBRITIES DO.Her going out at night has nothing to do with how she cares for her children. Just like when we go out and leave a babysitter watching out kids while we have fun. and sometimes come home drunk. right people? So why dont TMZ jump on K-feds nuts and (ride them) oops i mean report what he does. Brittney stories are getting stale and it seems like you all are just targeting her.

I would seriously question the sanity of leaving a piece of string with this person...lord knows she'd find a way to use it in a manner no string should be used.someone needs to remove any living,breathing person or animal from her home. Please tell me she hasn't already given her fish a tour of the LA sewer systems.

64. who gives a care. dogs get hurt, obviously it's been to the vet... Britney didn't put the damn cast on the dog. Half the people wouldn't even bother taking the dog to the vet. Give her a break

65. I've never seen so much invasion of privacy or scrutiny into anyone's life as there is in this girls life. The most mundane things are overdramatized, her private mishaps, failures, insecurities are broadcat for the world to see like this girl doesn't have emotions...she must not be able to have one private thought left for herself. I feel so incredibly sorry for this woman, she is not going to be able to go through life like this something has got to give, or we're going to read a very sad story about her in the not too distant future.
Really I never involve myself in things like this, but my heart so completely goes out to this girl that I just can't keep it to myself. Am I a bleeding heart, I don't know. I hope for her that she has the strength to tolerate the way this world treats her and recognize that its not her fault that it is nearly impossible to pick herself up in the midst of the abuse she endures by the media and the public every waking moment of her life.

72. The SPCA wants to make sure the dog was getting proper care? Ummm, the dog has a cast on, like some have stated, it was seen by a vet ... he/she had to put the cast on. This dog is little, they are prone to injury because their bones are not strong .. it could have tried to jump on a couch, chair, or bed & fell. It happens all the time, pets get injured. To blame Brit for that is silly & obsurd. Just another pointless story to blame Brit. Funny how Paris's little dog had a cast on early this year, she wasn't bashed or SPCA wasn't called to see if the dog was properly taken care of. But if it's Brit, she gets attacked!

75. What are all these celebrities doing to their animals? One story after another here - DMX, Vicks, and now Brit (though the reasons for her dog's injuries haven't been determined, and I doubt it's actually from animal abuse. Neglect, maybe. Who knows?)

Is animal cruelty a celebrity epidemic or something?! Sheesh.
