Dogs Rescued from DMX's House

KPNX television in Phoenix is reporting that the Maricopa County, Ariz. Sheriff's Department raided rapper DMX's home this morning in Cave Creek and removed 12 distressed pit bulls.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was not home at the time. News 12 is reporting a large cache of weapons was found in the home as well.

DMX has a long rap sheet (pun intended), which includes a guilty plea to animal cruelty charges in 2002.

UPDATE: According to DMX's attorney Murray Richman, it was all about the blazing Arizona heat. Richman claims that someone reported the dogs were at risk because of the extreme temperatures, telling TMZ "Earl has a caretaker, who obviously wasn't taking care. Earl loves those dogs." Richman added that DMX isn't even in Az and hasn't been there for several months because he's off working on a project.

I missed one. "Gods" is plural. I think this misinformed person meant "God's", the possesive form. I'm sure I missed it because I tend to avoid this "God" thing. The concept makes no sense.

95. We can only hope that another rap artist will cap his ass in a drive by shooting or maybe Foxy can beat him with a Blackberry. Rappers always seem to work things out in a civilized, orderly way. This guy is absolute garbage. Guns and mutiple accounts of animal cruelty. What a fine, contributing member of society. A little violent, eh? A little sociopathic, eh????

97. For all you crying racism, DMX perpetuates every black stereotype there is. How about addressing why powerful black men (and some women) in entertainment rape and kill (how about all those shootings?) and run around with guns like they're fashion accessories? The violence in music and videos is just becoming lame. It's all about celebrating being a thug. You know what? It's pathetic. I used to love rap music in the 80's -- when it mattered. Now it's just so tired.

99. TMZ you guys know you are some s*it starters I sware, you are the ONLY NEWS OUTLET reporting it as a RAID. They went and got the dogs because of the heat, a raid is usually warranted by presumed illegal activity and not done without proper paperwork and none of that is the case, it was a simple drop and swoop.

103. People need to quit making excuses why their animals aren't being taken care of. It seems like everytime a case like this comes up the owners blame someone for not taking care of them. Obviously, he can't take care of them himself, and what is he doing with 12 pit bulls? Part of Vick's fighting crew? Take the dogs away from him, punish him for not taking care of them, and don't allow him to own any animals. People that love their pets do not ignore them or go away for months without making sure they are being taken care of. Wake up people, protect these poor animals from people like this. Animals can't speak for themselves and depend on us to take care of them. If you can't or won't take care of your pet, then DON'T GET ONE. Animals are being treated as if they are trash, what a waste of some great animals. The Pit Bull is a great dog, but people like Vick, and Simmons torture, neglect, starve and beat them to be mean. May one day these dogs get their revenge and finally rest in peace
