Vick: I Was Part of a Group That Killed Dogs

TMZ has obtained the plea agreement in the Michael Vick case. In it, Vick "admits the facts set forth in the statement of facts."

A portion of the summary of facts reads "Vick agreed to the killing of approximately 6-8 dogs that did not perform well in testing sessions ..." It continues, "All of those dogs were killed by various methods, including hanging and drowning."

The plea agreement reads, "the defendant agrees to forfeit all interests in any and all dogs involved (in) an animal fighting venture that the defendant owns or over which the defendant exercises control ... including but not limited to the approximately 54 pit bulldogs recovered from the residence ... "

The agreement also states that Vick will plead guilty to charges of conspiracy and sponsoring a dog in an animal fighting venture. He's also admitted to providing funding for dog food, medicine and purse fees for dog fighting competitions.

Vick could face up to 5 years in prison along with a substantial fine.

95. Michael Vick should lose is football carrer and should go to jail for what he did. There is no excuss for killing dogs for sport, this is cruel and should be punished by the full extent of the law. Maybe we should put Vick in a fighting ring with one of those dogs he likes to watch tear each other up in and let him fight for his life! Have you ever seen two dogs fight, it can be very violent. I can't imagine watching two dogs fight to the death, this is very sick behavior, isn't this what we look for in identifing a serial killer? We should all do something to stop this cruelty to animals.

96. I certainly hope that the judge and NFL commissioner are not fooled by this phony contrition on Vick's behalf. So, Vick put up the money for Bad Newz kennels, but didn't expect any return on his investment? Wow, he is either extraordinarily kind or stupid. We know he isn't kind, so that leaves stupid. Or he is lying to the court. Regardless of whether or not he received money from the dog fights, which he most certainly did IMO, he funded and organized a gambling ring. Hence, his NFL career should be over.

And as for the more general argument that Vick shouldn't be prosecuted at all because dog fighting is "cultural" and dogs are "less than human"; we must remember that during this country's darkest days, lynching was considered cultural and certain racial groups, particularly African Americans, were considered to be less than human. Just because something is cultural, that doesn't make it acceptable.

98. You know......... as I read this, first thing comes to mind, is tie Vick up like he did those poor animals, and let the rest of his fighting Pits go after him. But that would be sinking to his sick level. The judge has no guidelines to go by, and Vick can spend up to 5 years, I do hope that the judge see what this man really is, and god lets hope that him being a NFL star (cough cough) plays no part in this and gives him the MAX. I am so tired of seeing these so called famous people get away with things, that a normal person in our society can't. It does not matter if you are white, black, even purple.

The Law is the Law. PERIOD!

Maybe he will be someones "Biotch" in prison. It just makes me sick to think someone can torture a animal.

99. I really dont see it as a big deal... i mean most of the killing were in testing phases as stipulated in the statement of facts... I mean what do u think happens when a greyhound doesnt perform well... and dont tell me they have rescues because for as many grey hound parks in the country and as long as they have lasted and go through dogs every house in america would have one... I mean to me this is a step down from UFC... stop vindicating a man because he has more athetic ability and more money than you all.. stop Being HATERS!!!!

100. 7 years for each dog is insane. People kill people and get less time than that. He deserves some time, but clearly not that much. A 90 -180 day stint should be sufficient.

105. Maybe every farmer and rancher that slaughters cows and chickens should be prosecuted. Maybe we should bomb Korea for mass slaughtering dogs for their cuisine. People love dogs and powerless animals when they have been hurt by people who can burn them and dissappoint them. U.S. culture has become flaky and irrational in many areas- certainly when it comes to getting more outraged at animals(that aren't predators) being harmed. They get more morally outraged than they do if someone harms another human. They then scream, "its so inhumane". Cruelty to another human is inhumane by definition.
