136. If this wasn't so pathetic it would be hysterical. I would have loved to have been in the audience to see/feel the reaction. How could anyone have kept a straight face after hearing that? Is that girl completely uneducated or just not good at on-the-spot thinking? Whatever her problem she needs help asap. That was excrutiating to sit through. Imagine her parents' dismay, assuming of course that they knew something was wrong.

137. Dumb as a brick, and I don't say that about too many people. I can only imagine the rest of the world laughing their asses off. Parents, stop buying Gucci, Prada and I pods for your kids, and start buying them some damn books. I've even seen street surveys were teens didn't know who the first president was. There is something wrong with the things parents are teaching their kids is valuable. I would rather be average looking with a kick ass brain, than made up like a Barbie doll, and dumb as a brick. There is only so much you can do with a brick.

138. She seemed very nervous and she's young. It was all going along fine but then it appeared she was nervous and probably blacked out on the beginning of the question.
These days in the media it's not about giving someone a break or a step up, it's about making fun of them. It's another reason I got out of broadcasting.

143. Oh my Gosh! I feel bad for her...Ok nerves is only a small part of it. When most people get nervous they say umm alot or just pause. It was a hard question and it was difficult to create an answer that way beauty pagent worthy. I am mean she tried to do what her coach told her...talk about africa and south american and how we should be involved and world peace... How exactly do you play up the role of the united states in the world when you are asked a question where the only straight forward answer is that our education system is failing our students.
Also to those who say that they must be blind or not a real american... I tell you that like it or not we are all immigrants to this nation and some people are just proud of their heritage while others would rather disregard it. This does not make them less intelligent. Those people who are blind or have other disabilities does not make them stupid or ignorent like some of you! People with disabilities are sometimes more educated and knowledgable then those with all their senses. Don't make fun of her ignorance by showcasing yours....unless that is your intentions. Not to say that I am any better I am a product of the american education system and see how poorly I speak.... At least I have a few moments to think and I don't have hot lights and tv cameras pointing at me.
And for the Bush loving guy I remind you that places like south caroline are mostly republican so stop blaming the situation on Democrats. Come on Bush is probably the last person you want to be associated with after a situation like this. He has made more blunders while speaking than this poor girl! At Least she is not trying make decisions to run the nation!
Also she is young... For all those idiots that keep asking where she graduated from the answer is ....She didn't! She is a TEENAGER! Which means she is still in high school.

Having said all this It was funny though:) But You shouldn't judge her by one question what if the world judged you by a 5 second response to an odd question how would you fare?

148. Come on guys. Give the poor girl a break. You try speaking in front of millions of people on live TV. No, I didn't understand her answer, but hey, she did get third runner-up. Obviously the judges seen something in her to give her third. I certalinly couldn't get in front of all those people and answer any question without choking and neither can any of you.
