Nick Hogan: Speed Demon!

151. I would have to say the parents and the State of Florida are neglegant in this case. After seeing his previous record there is no way this kid should have a license. The first time he should have been charged with reckless driving and lost his license until he was 18. The parents and the court system failed this boy and the public miserably. I guess someone has to die before the message gets sent.

152. Has anyone thought of the Silver Viper? Did the individual driving this car swerve into Nick and cause the end result? Are the police looking for this individual driving this vehicle. Many of you are jumping to conclusions simply because he is well off. I think that all should wait for the final report from the police department after their investigation. Many of you have had accidents related to stupid acts either by immaturity or other issue's. Quit throwing stones at the family until all facts are present. Yes, driving over the speed limit is wrong and that may be what was occurring, but you don't know all of the facts to create an opinion in regards to this family.

153. Michelle #149. There was a woman who is a registered Nurse who was behind Nick in the Yellow Supra and the Silver Viper at the stoplight from which the drag race that resulted in this accident. She's says that there was no contact between the two cars that Nick began to fishtale before losing total control and slamming into the curbing that is several feet tall.
However the kicker of about this nurse's story is that the Hogan's own a silver Viper and speculation has already begun locally that the Viper was being driven by someone else in the Hogan family or that it was being driven by one of Nick's friends. They suggest this would explain how Hulk Hogan appeared at the scene of the accident before the two boys were even extricated from the Supra. The police aren't talking so other than the fact that the Hogan's own a Silver Viper the rest of the above is pure speculation at this point.
But it seems to fit to me and it explains how Hogan could have been there so quick if the other car had headed straight back to the Hogan house as the nurse who was the first to get to the two boys and offer them any assistance claims that the Viper just kept going and never stopped. 154. They needed this reality show because Hulk Hogan lost out on the big bucks on the opportunity of the concept of the George Foreman grill. I think it's all the blonde hair dye. At times if you don't pay close attention you wonder who's the mother and who's the daughter. I've watched this show a few times, but I've forgotten has this brat graduated from high school? If so I think he needs 4 years of traffic school. He bought the car with "HIS OWN MONEY." Where does a 17 year old kid get $80,000 to buy a car? We all know if it were you and me we wouldn't have a license and we'd probably be spending time in jail. But different rules apply here. You can bet that he probably doesn't feel much remorse either. He'll return home, get the usual lecture and "talking to" and be told he doesn't realize the seriousness of the situation. He'll argue yes he does. This "discussion" will go on for sometime with no resolution. After a few months it will be forgotten and he'll go back to doing it all over again. Only the next time the results may be tragically different.

155. From the looks of the previous court paperwork, it looks like his license was already restricted form sunset to sunup, which menas since this happened in the middle of the night, he was in effect, driving on a suspended license. He should be facing several charges out of this.

156. It doesn't matter whether or not you have money. All 17 year old boys love speed. It is not being spoiled, not because of steroid use by anyone, or if mom and dad can get you out of it. or being a celebrity in one shape or another. It is part of being a BOY...... some girls love speed too. Obviously he has gone to court, done traffic school etc. and dad hasn't gotten him out of that. By the way he was drinking or on drugs, so DUI has not part in this
problem. It is hard enough to be a celebrity parent. You are always being watched. It hard being a parent period. But even though you don't walk away from this problem you
deal with it at the right time and right place.

So you all need to take a pill and chill. I am sure he will be dealt with properly. Besides he is being punished as we type our messages. As long as his friend is in the hospital
he will suffer. If his friend passes he will punish himself for that as well.

157. ooooopppppsssss......In my message #152 I accidently typed that he was drinking and on drugs but that was wrong...... Reports I have read came back negative for under the influence. So my statment should have read was NOT drinking or on drugs.

159. 153 MAXWELLSMART - I din't know a Toyota Supra cost $80,000. The silver Viper is owned by the Hogans, I haven't read anywhere that the $80,000 is actually registered to Nick. Do you know any other 17 yr old kids who are being paid to be in a reality show? I'm sure Nick and Brooke are both compensated pretty well for being on the show, so even if the Viper does belong to Nick what does it matter? I'm more interested to know the connection between the silver Viper involved in this accident and the fact Hulk showed up at the crash site before the boys were even removed from the vehicle. There can't be that many silver Vipers registered in Florida much less the Tampa-Clearwater area.

160. Obviously this kid likes to drive fast, umm doesn't every guy? Everyone is yelling that the kid hasn't learned this and that... how old are most guys when they finally realize speeding recklessly is actually dangerous? What usually happens that makes them realize that driving too fast can hurt people - well they have a bad accident.

The media and the commentors on here make it sound like he did something awful and something that is out of the ordinary, but it's neither. He's a kid that was handed a bunch of SPORTS cars that most women wouldn't let their husbands drive and no realization of how easily he could hurt himself and his friend by driving recklessly. This isn't a case of a bad person, only a teenager learning a hard lesson and it's really sad that his friend is so badly hurt. My father sold his 94 GT mustang when I turned 16 because he was afraid i might end up wanting to buy it from him and would end up injured in a wreck because I did something stupid like Nick did.

I wish people weren't such judgemental busy body's - worry about your own kids. Make sure that they are safe drivers by giving them a lot of personal attention under your experienced guidance instead of just letting them go to drivers ed and drive for 40hrs to get a license and think they know everything. Help them make good decisions, and don't give someone that has a year of driving experience a car that can do in excess of 100mph easily. I 'm 27 and I know better than to buy myself a sports car - I would have a trunk full of speeding tickets and probably end up doing something stupid like this kid did too - but i'm old enuf to realize that.
