Owen Wilson Issues a Statement

TMZ has obtained the following statement from Owen Wilson:

"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."

Andrew Wilson, Owen and Luke's older brother, was spotted by TMZ cameras going into Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles late this morning. Andrew ignored questions about his brother's condition.

According to People, Luke also visited Owen last night.

Haven't you guys ever heard of Clinical Depression? If your Clinically Depressed, you don't have to have a reason for depression other than the chemicals in your brain.

Dear Owen Wilson,

I am not one for writing to celebrities, but feel compelled to do so now. I just read part of an article pertaining to your recent suicide attempt. I glanced at the magazine just out of curiosity in regards to you. Why? Because I just found out that a co-worker of mine successfully took his life last night and we are all feeling the effects of the shock and loss around our place of business.

I just want to say that someone does care about you, even people that you don't think matter in your life. All you have to do is be brave enough to reach out for some help. It really is that simple to go talk to someone (I know, I've almost been in your shoes).

I hope that you will seek the help that you need in order to find happiness on this planet. And I very much look forward to seeing you in the lime light, healthy and happy, once again.

Owen Wilson is a tremendous, soulful, honest down to earth actor. I enjoy all his comedy's where he plays opposite Ben Stiller. I just saw Owen in the movie, Darjeeling limited. All I can say is that I hope Owen recovers and heals. I wish him all the best in finding the strength and courage it takes to go on after a tough time.
