TMZ has obtained the following statement from Owen Wilson:
"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."
Andrew Wilson, Owen and Luke's older brother, was spotted by TMZ cameras going into Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles late this morning. Andrew ignored questions about his brother's condition.
According to People, Luke also visited Owen last night.

I don't care whether he's rich, poor or whatever. Depression is depression and unless you've had it then I'd suggest you shut the hell up.

If celebrities stuck with their childhood friends and had a person who could tell them the TRUTH about themselves, maybe they wouldn't become addicts or have delusions about themselves. Everyone who makes a living off the celeb will lie to them, cover for them,and give them whatever they want. Their lives become unreal and empty. This actor, of modest talent but much success, would have been better off without the lifestyle his fame has brought him.

I can't believe how cold and cruel people are being about this. Depression can strike anyone and in fact 'having it all' can make it worse, because you wonder if you feel bad now, then how is it going to be if it all falls apart or you need to face serious problems?
As for the person who said Owen Wilson failed to "be a hero" by not actually dying from a suicide attempt - if you think killing yourself is a heroic act, then you need some serious psychological help or to read less Nirvana biographies.
I have always been fond of Wilson. He's a very talented writer and seems like a genuinely nice guy. That is all anyone needs to know.

I love you Owen and I wish nothing but the best for you. It's none of anyone's business what you're going through. None of us are exempt from the stresses and pressures of life. Money doesn't solve problems...you're human just like we all are!

I don't understand. This man makes milliions, he has fame, he has fortune, he can buy any apartment, any house he so desires (well, not anyone, but you get it)...I can't afford my rent in NYC and I barely pay my bills...
So if this guy is in the hospital for trying to kill himself (I doubt that's it, but if it is) he is the most selfish, egocentric idiot working actor in the industry today.
I just don't get it. You have so much and are...empty.

Just becuase he may do coke doesn't mean that he had an overdose. Sometimes when you ad booze and coke and whatever other crap he may or may not be doing it makes it much easier to commit suicide when you would never have normally done it if you were in your right mind. Whatever it is, he needs some help.

Sometimes it take a really understanding person to make someone better and that's what I believe, and I believe Jennifer could get Owen clean. There's nothing wrong with wishing something for a favorite actor. Jennifer would be good for him.
