Drama at Paris' Pad

There has been something of a snag in the sale of Paris Hilton's Hollywood Hills pad.
Paris' house
TMZ has learned the house did not appraise for the sale price. Although there are reports it went into escrow for $4.2 mil, Paris' realtor, Mauricio Umansky from the firm Hilton & Hyland, tells us the purchase price is just under that amount.

Umansky, Paris' uncle, acknowledged the highest appraisal the buyer got was $3.6 million. Here's where it gets kind of interesting: Umansky says the purchase price includes furniture and chandeliers totaling between $600,000 and $700,000. He said one chandelier is made by Baccarat -- and only 12 were made. That piece alone is worth 40K.

Umansky says the buyers, a married couple from Texas, will pay the agreed-upon purchase price. He says they're paying mostly cash -- the loan is for $1 million. As a result, Umansky says the appraisal doesn't really mean squat. Umansky tells us the couple will get the keys next week.

32. Most American's have their head barried in the sand, its significant that across the US medium home prices have dropped by the biggest percentage point since 1969. You do know real estate crashed in 1969 badly, dont you? Nope did'nt think so because most of your comments are based on personnel jelous Paris bashing. Credit is also tightning, maybe another reason buyer's must lay out more cash and finance only a million. Bet their bank would not let them borrow more despite having enough cash. A few short years after 1969 stocks hit a bear market in 74 and hyper inflation recession of the Jimmy Carter. Between know and next Oct. the stock market is going to tank big time, stocks and real estate have only crashed at the same time once before, that was 1929, think not recession but Great Depression. So yeah, turning markets paying top market, I would be looking for excuses not to buy this house as well. In bad enviroments like we are entering cash is king. This being Paris Hiltons former home has nothing to do with it. Ms. Hilton does have awesome taste in furnishings by the way. She should do a home furniture line, perfume and fashion, every minor celeb and their security are getting into the latter.

37. Her house is beautiful. Looked liked noone lived there, just all for show. Damn it is a buyers market if they can get a home for a mere $1 mill. Come on ppl. she was asking $4.2. Give her a break for absorbing the cost difference. She does not want to be there because of the "paps" and I am sure her neighbors r so HAPPY!

43. Paris who lounged on her deck looking through a portfolio of herself, Watched herself in the windows of her beach house, Stops at every reflection as she walks by. Of course she would have a giant mural of herself!

44. I don't see a problem here since the buyers are paying mostly cash. They evidently bought the house with the furnishings included.

So why are you making a big deal out of nothing. The appraisal sounds about right for the neighborhood and the buyers are paying a bit extra for the house's history.

What's with the name calling by low-lives. Sojme posters need to take a closer look at their Own lives before sitting in judgement over others.

45. # 36 Phonco
some pure speculation and some predicted months ago, old news.
most people do not have their head in the sand, you just need to think yours is a bit higher out. It's really not all that complicated.
